05 Passenger Dash Airbag Replacement
Hello all,
My son had a front collision and the pass. deployed but not the steering wheel. He says nobody was in the pass. seat. Front end is repaired but I don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the dash and I've already picked an airbag from an 04 at the local pick a part. Planning to reset the SRS module through an online vendor and have some questions on things left to do:
Seatbelt tensioners still work, do these still need replacement?
The junkyard dash is clean, is it possible to remove the airbag lid (flaps) and install on ours? Not sure if a delete tray is the way to go.
Find an older honda airbag lid (not molded in the dash like the TSX) and glue it down over the hole?
Go back to the junkyard and get the dash and maybe the SRS module and plan on a weekend of work...and headaches?
I've done a lot of DIY on my Honda's over the years but this is my first time dealing with SRS repairs. Any comments appreciated.
