check to see if you tail lights have water in them.. if thats the case the seal around the tail lights need replacing or caulking. also check your rubber, that runs around the trunk, for rips, tears, or crack.

Hi! I just joined this well-run forum after buying my daughter a 1996 TL 3.2 Premium in very good (one previous owner) condition.
The trunk also leaks as described above. Before I order two (2) of the $14.90 taillight gaskets from the link below, am I correct in assuming that this gasket is reversible for use on both left and right side taillights?

I'm assuming from your post that replacing those two gaskets stopped water leaking into your trunk?

I think to clean out the mold, you'll probably have to scrub it with soap and water, but I don't know if that is the proper way to clean the trunk of your car. I just know that cleaning mold in general would require that. If you use mold killing chemicals, it will just prevent it from reproducing, I believe, but won't actually remove it. Drying it out and giving it sunlight and air circulation will inhibit growth. I'd probably check the car's manual and see if Acura provided any tips in that area. If they didn't say anything specific about how to clean the trunk or what not to do, then I think I would get a brush and scrub with that. Just an idea since I've never had this problem before, but I think that is how I would approach it. I realize that this was posted a while ago, so have you cleaned it already?
