I use Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic Formula 5W-30 every 3,000 miles with the fram X-tra gaurd - (claims you can change the oil every 7,000 miles) i used to use the double gaurd, but i can't seem to find it anymore, either its sold out or the stores not carrying it anymore???

5w30 Mobil1 Synthetic

I use it in the Acura TL 3.2 and the BMW 528i.

Helps me to keep a single inventory of oil.

I've found Mobil1 is the most readily avail polyalphaolefin (PAO) based synthetic oil that I can buy off the shelf.
Castro is cheaper but their Syntec is not polyalphaolefin (PAO) based but mineral oil based.

Both are very good... but I've picked Mobil1 since PAO is what's used in the Military for artic and desert climates since it has higher tolerance of breakdown and temp.
In the general public, PAO's considered the true synthetic.
