This is what I do:
1. Wash car with Gliptone
2. Clay Car with Mothers
3. Wash again
4. Wax w/ Gliptone Cleaner wax
5. Wax again with Gliptone Show Gloss
6. Polish with Zymol
7. Sometimes I get more crazy and Polish with Liquid Crystal as well.
8. Wipe sweat off my brow step back and admire for 15 to 20 minutes, then go cruising.

Some people say that I am suppose to polish before I wax, but I am happy with the results with my steps. I feel Polish should be a final coat seeing it is a gloss enhancer and seeing wax is more abraisive than polish why not make polishing your final coat. So that is what i feel and that is what i do.

I use Mothers to wash, then Meguiars gold to wax. Works well, though I was thinking of checking out Zaino...

BTW - I picked up Letherique last year for my seats, and man, it did a great job.

Bobby, only reason to use wax as a last step is because it actually provides more protection against the elements....but if you like what you see, then by all means stick with it! I spent 5 hours on my car last Friday. High speed buffer with mothers 3 stage (cleaner, polish then wax) and of course it rained halfway through the last stage, so it was a little difficult, and that's what took a lot of the time. Gonna throw on a nother coat this week of the wax. But the car came out looking like GLASS. My first time with a high speed buffer and I did burn a little spot with the edge of the pad on the back between the bumper and taillight, but you cant see it. Car looks great..but now I REALLY need a paintjob...shows all the stone chips from the winter.

I have a question... is it bad to wax every time you wash your car? I wash it about once every week or every two weeks.

I really dont' think that is a great idea but I'll let someone more experienced answer that question. My question for you is, if you wax it every weekend where do you find that kind of time? Man, I wish I had that kind of time on my hands, must be nice!

That depends alot on what wax you use. If you use a strong cleaner wax then it could be bad as you are taking off a small layer of paint every time you wax. Waxing every week could cause grief later on as over years you will wear down the paint!! I usually wax my car 4 or 5 times a season. Once with the cleaner then polish and wax (3 stage) then the other 3 or 4 times just put a coat of wax on top. If you're just using a spray on wax or a pure caruaba wax, then go ahead and wax as often as you like!!

Waxing doesn't take that long... I spend about half an hour putting it on and 10 minutes taking it off. Besides, it's worth it.

I use the regular TurtleWax, it says it 'Cleans and Shines' on the bottle... so I guess I better not Wax every week.

Unhappy

I bought some of the blue Zymol that you can buy at WalMart, cost about $12. Is that what most of ya'll use? I am not at all impressed with it, but maybe I did something wrong... Is everyone who has used the "regular" zymol satisfied with it?
