Question What do you think i could get for a First Gen Tl?

Hello Everyone,
I have a 96 2.5TL. 71,500 original miles. The car is champange with taupe leather. Loaded, all factory options, sunroof deflector, and a double din Clarion tape / cd head unit, and clarion 12 disc CD in the trunk.
The car is Certified Pre-owned from Acura, and has the warranty until 100k miles. Im thinking of taking the plunge and picking up a 2nd Gen 3.2TL. Now i'm wondering realistically what I could get for it? The car in NJ, I have all books and records, always dealer serviced etc etc. It would make a great 1st car. What do you think guys?

Best wishes and take care,
George Androulakis

Hey there fellow central NJ friend, it is time to get a new TL isn't it? :-)
www.kelleybluebook.com will give you at least a starting reference for the value of your car by either trading it in or selling it yourself.

I would trade it in, even if you don't get as much, I hate having people come to my place and want to test drive it, that is dangerous and just a waste of your time. Trade it in to take as much as you can off the new purchase price. Especially now when TL Type S at placed like Precision Acura are going for list and they will not budge at this moment.

See you on Rt 1 sometime and good luck with your purchase.

I got this Tl from Precision Acura, and honestly i wasnt too happy with them. Especially their service department - They will do anything in their power to get out of a warranty claim.
I was thinking about trading it in, but the values seem dismally low compared to what they are selling them for.
I have another car, a '93 BMW 325is, so I am thinking of selling the 96 TL off now, just cause it's car buying season. Then waiting a bit to make a move on a TL. I was thinking of getting a 99 - 00 pre owned, but it depends on the deal, like how much of a savings it is. I think if i was going to go for a typeS it would be a CL to replace the BMW. Im also skeptical about that much power and front wheel drive, and grossly uneven weight distribution, but that is a completely separate issue. I think the TL is overall a very nice car and value. As for route 1 I try to avoid it as much as possible, but do take it as part of my commute daily, thank god only from 130 to rt 18 though.
Take care and i'll let everyone know how it works out.

Go for another BMW, Princeton BMW is a good place to get started and the stock is somewhat good and they at least will take something off the MSRP, unlike the TL Type S.

I think you are itching for something new now!

Good luck!

I think if you take care of the car, oil changes, timing belts etc etc.. I think the car can last 200k miles maybe more. Its a Honda and every Honda that my family has had has hit 200k.
