Trans Issue
Can anyone help me why my car rpm's are high ( 3200-3500 rpm at 85 mph) it feels like the last gear isnt engaging. If so can send me a link with images or videos how to fix issue?
Thanks, Sean |

I have not done any fluid change since I bought the car 6 months ago, Should I flush the tranny?
|
It depends...
IMHO, one should N-E-V-E-R "flush" an automatic transmission, period, full-stop, the end. The above said, I would check the color of the ATF, and if it is even a little bit dark, I would have what is known as a 3x3 fluid swap performed. A 3x3 fluid swap is where you drain out three quarts of ATF, add three new quarts, drive for a few days, and then repeat, for a total of three times. While I do not have the exact gear ratios Honda employed in their 4-Speed transmission, based upon other similar Honda products, I would swag if the transmission is operating, at 85 MPH, the tachometer should indicate 4,400 RPMs when in 3rd gear (with torque converter lockup) and 2,900 RPMs when in 4th gear (with torque converter lockup) . |
Thank you very much horsehoez for your quick and input! I hope you can help me with my other Post on here with AC problem.
Thanks Sean |
