Thermostat location

Thermostat location

Hi can anyone tell me where my thermostat is located and how difficult it is to change it, I think its working but i would like to take a look at it cuz Im about to change my coolant this weekend. Ive searched but havent seen a diy on how to change a thermostat. Let me know if there is a thread on here on how to do it, thanks guys.

I took this image from another thread. (Sorry for the big pic)

I believe it is in the bottom left of the pic where the radiator hose goes into the engine.

The lower radiator hose goes right into the thermostat housing. You can access it from there.

thanks tlin401 but i have a 3.2 and i think thats the 2.5 engine right? so mine should be in a different place. Hey go90go u said its on the lower radiator hose, is it difficult to replace?

Not really, just have new coolant ready and bleed the system before driving it.

Once you take off the lower radiator hose, there are a couple bolts and that's it.

I'd get a 180* one. I currently have a 170* myself. Stock is 190*, IIRC.

I'm assuming you're going in from underneath the car right? from the top there is noooo room, the throttle cable is right in the way

It's the housing where the lower radiator hose clamps onto the engine block. you don't need to take off the radiator hose. just unbolt the 10mm bolts and you're good to go.
