Taking orders for custom aluminum door sills
okay here's the scoop.
I spoke with Jeff Kuo at www.evolution-autodesign.com
Check website for pic of sills.
75.00 for a set of four. (standard)
Brushed aluminum finish with either Black or Dk Gray Lettering
65.00 if we placed an order of five or more.

If you would like to cusomize them they also have:
Chrome or Black Chrome finishes for 20.00 extra = (95.00)
Various colors of lettering for 10.00 = (85.00 / 105.00 w/ chrome)
(he said color matching would be difficult unless he could see your car.. so keep it simple)
Let me know what you guys would like to do. I will be placing my order and anyone else who would like to join me on March 1st.
I'm sending him my door sills for measurement. It will take about 21/2 weeks to get it together.

Okay It's crunch time. I WILL BE PLACING THE ORDER Monday March 3 for any one who still would like to order. We have enough people to get the discount I just need more specifics from people. This is what I have:

hey i got a really specific question... what will the wording be??? is it possible to have custom wording also??? but to me it really don't matter cause im down for that... put me down and let me know about the shipping prices... i still don't know about the style tho...

After thinking it over the weekend, I've decided to pass on getting this stuff. I think it looks good and all, but bottom line, for me, it's probably not really a "must" get detail/mod. Thanx for all your efforts anyways & good luck with the order. Post some pics when it's finally installed in ur car (the sills may look so good that I may be upset at myself for not gettin' them when I had the opportunity...
).

I am in for billet w/ grey lettering.
Just wondering are these stick on or do they snap on or what? If the lettering are stickers are they vinal? As long as they are vinal they will last.

I'm still trying to get intouch with Jeff. This is what I do know.. The lettering is screen printed in the sills (pic posted on web site)and I believe there is an adhesive used to attach them to the door sills.
I will get back to you guys soon. If I don't get the answers to the questions by Thursday, I will push back the order a couple of days to make sure everyone is well informed, ready and that no one gets left out.
End the end we should all know the following:
1) What materials sills are made of?
2) How lettering is applied?
3) What the lettering will say.
4) If custom lettering is available, if so how much$$
5) How the sills are attached? (method)
6) If the 65.00 price includes shipping.
7) If not, then how much shipping will cost.
8) How the sills will be distributed
9) Will the door sills add horse power to my TL?

So, how many people do you have in on it? I looked at my door sills the other day and decided that new ones would not be a bad idea. If you have not put in the order I would like to be down. Let me know.

Answers to questions...
1.) Aluminum, anodized with the brushed finish
2.) Lettering is applied with a silkscreen/anodize process. Similar to what they do to T-Shirts, but this is a special process used for metal. Don't worry, it's pretty tough.
3.) Lettering will say Acura TL, unless you guys have something else in mind. It is whatever all of you agree on.
4.) It is available, but it's like $35 extra because each new design we take to the shop gets hit with a $25 fee and I have to pay my own designer to convert your artwork into the proper format for the shop.
5.) 3M tape, same as we use on our trim kits. Very strong stuff.
6.) Yes, it does include shipping. Unless you like in AK, HI or Canada. $5 extra for those.
7.) See above
8.) They will be distributed directly by my shop.
9.) We've seen gains in the past of up to 20 hp, your own results may vary. But if you put the Type R stickers I sell on there too, then 30 hp.
I pushed back the order until March 15. This way everyone who wants to place an order can get in on it. I will coordinate the initial order and payments are to be made directly to the shop the prices include shipping . The sill will then be delivered to your specified address. Thanks guys.. okay im in... but wouldn't it be better if it said Acura 3.2TL??? and im just wondering isn't the rear door sills much shorter than the front ones.. and i don't think that the Acura TL can fit on the rear one.. i just want to make sure so it don't look crappy but for 35$ extra i would rather get custom lettering... make the front of mine Acura 3.2 TL, and make the two rear ones say CHAU.. =)
