yea it sounds wonderful, low pass at 80 hz and no trunk rattle, GOD I HATE HEARING THAT, funny/cool thing about this box is that no matter how loud i crank it, u wont hear ANY of the bass on the outside (even at 2 feet) since its all aimed into the cabin but once i roll down all the windows and open sun roof, u can hear me 5 cars up in traffic, i think thats neat lol

So you can never close the ski pass... Why didn't you remove the black door, then cut the wood at an angle to match the rake of the backseat? That way, you'd get your huge port, and be able to cover it when parked?

~Cheers~

the good thing about our tl's is that they dont need much to sound good, jus get a nice deck with a built in high pass filter, wire in the dome mid ranges, and upgrade the door speakers....sounds lovely

I had a lot of stereos in my old TL.

2 square kicker 12" subs with MTX class D 1500 watt amp (RIP subs)
2 ORION 12" subs with MTX class D 1500 watt amp (RIP subs)
3 12" Eclipse subs with MTX class D 1500 watt amp (RIP subs)

Got rid of the amp and got a Class D 750 MTX (half the power) and 2 15" ORION subs in one big box. Loved it.

nice, how did you get your 3 12`s to fit? my 2 10`s take up the whole trunk lol, i`d like to eventually add a 3rd, but my next move is fiberglass pods in the rear doors for a set of components

i dont think 3 12" subs would fit in a our trunk on a flat box .. the only way i can think of it fitting if it were built in angles like this \__/ with one sub on each side, guessing that the eclipse sub's magnets arent that huge

^That was exactly the shape of the box, it was smaller and the magnets were not out of this world. This was long before all these subs with humongous magnets.

The best sound to me was the 2 15's, I fell in love with it. I had to tackle the box into the trunk, when it came time to sell the car I had to ax the box in half inside the trunk in order to take it out.

I don't know how I survived all those years with no trunk....I guess when you have a house, you get a lot more stuff to haul.

I don't do the stereo thing anymore.

The RL's got the stock BOSE sound with an AUX input and the TL just has a small eclipse amp and a 10" MTX sub in the trunk & all new speakers. I couldn't stand the stock stereo in that car - and needed an aux input so I got a new deck - that's how it all started.

I'm getting an amp, 2 subs and an enclosure for less than $35. The price of a Chevy waterpump.
