Unhappy She will be missed...

RIP my beloved TL.

Had a beautiful 2.5 years affair with you...

Best car I owned so far and hands down one of the nicest, well built Acura's ever. 2.5 years/ 40000 miles, never left me stranded. Only had to replace starter(thats a wear and tear item so I don't count that as break down).

Feeling little better now but back is still sore. Left arm ot burned by airbag and few rashes on both arms. Didn't get any rash from seatbelt.

Here is how it happened.
35 MPH limit street. I am going around 38-40. When I was little far away I saw him pulling out of his driveway and stop. By the time I got closer to him (at the point of oh shit and can't do anything) he pulled out in front of me without even looking. Last I remember is him looking to his right all the time before he pulled in front of me. He didn't even look to his left at all. I honked my horn and jammed my breaks. My ABS light was on. ABS worked for few milliseconds then the wheels locked. I slid right into him. Airbags blow up in my face. Inhaling all the white stuff was not pleasant.

He admitted to me and the cop as well that It was totally his fault. Rest is on insurance. We'll wait and see what happens. I am 99% sure they are going to total the car. Aftermath...

The truck I hit. Newer Dodge Dakota.

Whats left on my car..

Getting towed..

Waiting to get the X-Ray done. Just to be sure that there are no cracks or anything in the bone. Airbag hit really hard..

What's on my arm. Doesn't look that bad in the pic but it was swollen and fluffy like a marshmallow...LoL

well that sucks. Airbags are no fun. That makes two with wrapped up arms, cept mine is wrapped onto my hand. I'm sure insurance will compensate you more than for your troubles.

Thanks guys. I went to tow yard to get my belongings out. Took few pics of the part that took the hit. Its the passenger side front wheel. Shock along with strut tower, drive shaft is all bent and control arm is broken also...

Thanks guys.

Undyroos, from what I could see without hurting my back the front right strut looked bent a little because it got pushed back with the wheel along with the strut tower. I guess strut bar helped a little to stop it from getting any worst. I am going to try to buy the car back from insurance and part it out. Interior is CLEAN so is everything else other than the front obviously..

Mike. I know it sucks. I was about to tell G090go to bring his Inspire grill with him to Acurafest so that we can go there like twin Inspires but

Bent driveshaft and broken control arm doesn't look or sound too good. Good thing you made out okay.

Better tires = better stopping power which might have prevented this. But sorry for your loss. There are others out there.

Tires were better than I thought. They still grip better than new all seasons. There was no way I could spin my tires even if I try to.

Car is gonna be home in next an hour or so. I will probably post a part out thread if I end up buying it back. I haven't made my mind yet and it totally depends on what is insurance going to pay me for the car.

And yea, Insurance has officially totaled the car.

I need a new (to me) car. If anyone in bay area see any E46 330i sedan under $10K for sale, please let me know. No dark colors though, I hate swirls and dust they attract .

EDIT: PM sent Ken.

Don't worry, man. We've all been there or will be there eventually. Just let it out.

On another note, I got hit today while parked, too, and they didn't even leave a note.

~Cheers~

So, I am parting the car out. Shoot me a PM with what you need. I'll start part out thread in BM tomorrow I guess (if I get home early from work)...

He got the rims from me as I had bought two sets, and I used the four rears while he has the four fronts. Tires are Yokohama S-Drives in 205/55R16.

sorry to read about your loss. brings back terrible memories.

on the other hand, why did you buy the car back? or is it that you just kept it without your insurance comp paying you for a total loss? your insurance comp wouldnt let you take any mods as long as you have the stock parts to replace? you're going to have to make 3-4 grand on a part out just to break even, no? i could be wrong on this so forgive me if i am.
