Replacing Rear Speaker - Suggestions?
All, I want to replace the rear speakers on my '97 3.2 TL (I am installing a Pioneer X3700 Touch-Screen to replace the stock radio).
Does anyone have suggestions on which 6X9 speakers to get? I don't listen to loud music, but one of the speakers blew out so I wanted to replace the both of them.
Thank you!

I recently installed some old Blaupunkt 6 x 9 in the back of the car. They sound pretty great. I have still to get around to installing a new deck.
Also removing them can he quite troublesome as the cover required me to squirm around in the trunk and it was not comfortable at all.......

Thanks for the responses guys! I went with some Pioneer TS-A6965R 3-way speakers for the back and, wow, I essentially hear sounds that were not audible before. Huge change.
But now they completely wash out the front speakers that sound like they're blown too now (maybe too much power from the new head unit?), so I'm purchasing some new 6.5 inch speakers for the front doors (I'm just gonna go Pioneer again).
But I have another two questions: (1) are those two 2-inch mid range speakers next to the front overhead light supposed to be putting out much/any sound; (2) does anyone have recommendations on which 1.5 inch tweeters or 2.0 inch mid-range speakers I could purchase as replacements?
Thanks again!

I have a pioneer deck and it sounds very clear and great.
But I will need an amplifier because it's not very loud without an amplifier.
My rear speaker are so loud compared to my front speakers. I got some cheap MTX speakers for the front and they are very clean sounding but also very weak. However, using the equalizer I can balance out both front and rear.
About the tweeters, I've only heard them once when I had the original deck without the 4 primary speakers connected and they worked at time they weren't very loud but they are tweeters so their purpose isn't for that.
But now that I have my pioneer deck in I don't hear them anymore. There is almost no difference but they maybe a way to hook them up to my current deck.
For your front speakers the size is 6.25 or 6 and a quarter.
6.5 do fit but you'll have to mount them without white plastic speaker bracket.
Use screws that tap in while they go in.

Also, when I looked up 6.25 inch speakers all that came up was this on Ebay: Pioneer 6 1 4 6 25 inch 2 Way Car Audio Speakers 200 Watts Peak Pair TSF1634 | eBay
But when I look at the comparable Amazon link, it says they are 6.5 inch speakers:

Sorry I didn't meant but the current speakers are 6.5.
The actual size that fits in the brackets are in fact 6.25. I know online says 6.5 but it's not.
I recently replaced my speakers 2 weeks ago and know that 6.5 do not fit inside the white brackets that the original speakers sit in.
I do however have 6.5 speakers in my car and they do fit properly with the door trim over it but there is no actual mounting point which I easily created using self-tap screws and a drill gun.
I've searched online and my old Pioneer 6.25 speakers are no longer sold. 6.25 is a rare size to come online and there are some but mostly only on Ebay with slow shipping so I went with 6.5 instead.
