rear speakers

on 96 2.5 TL.

how do you remove the rear speakers? and the speaker grills?

i heard you need to remove the rear seats then remove the carpeting to reach the speakers.

Talking

pretty quick:

1. open and empty out the trunk.

2. climb in trunk and look straight up at the speaker from below.

3. you will see the speaker, four bolts and fasteners.

4. loosen nuts and lift the grill from inside the car.

5. re-attaching the grill is quite tedious. you must thread the four bolts through the cardboard and then the holes, quite a pain in the @$$.

6. once in, tighten up and you are done....

hope this helps =P

i have a 2.5...

no i tried again, this morning but i just can't figure it out! damn.

there are these four screws that are screwed DOWN (into the trunk, can't unscrew). there are also these little plastic clips. now some of them are yellowish color and they are pretty small (about 4 or 5). and then there are these big gray ones (about 4 i think). i can unclip the small yellow ones by using pliers. then i tried pushing up the carpeting from the trunk. that didn't work.

long story short, it didn't work again. i'll probably go ask the dealer sometime.

btw, anyone know how to remove the rear seats on 2.5? see if that works. the guy at tweeter said thats what you do.

o and also. i just got my alpine 7873 deck last night. gonna install it on saturday.
