Parting out... For good this time.

Several times over the years I've wanted to part out and then had been convinced to change my mind. I'm parting for good this time. I will be setting up some Black Market threads, but thought I'd post in here first.

~Cheers~

P.S. Just about everything is available, except for the sound system. I'll think about parting that, but it doesn't seem likely. Heavier items like the motor, etc., I would prefer someone coming to get it, of course.

Oh, and a full custom Bellezza interior is available, too. I waited a month and a half for it to be made and carried the gigantic box back from Japan myself.

It was a combination of things, actually. It seems that I will be leaving the platform for awhile as well. As much as I love this chassis, there aren't enough around in the condition I need/want for me to be able to stay.

The interior is a light beige. I actually put on the rear seats and they're very nice and comfortable. My friend stuck his head in the car right after I finished and said he was jealous because my car smelled like Japan, haha. It did, too. I posted a sample in another thread, but I can't remember where it is.

~Cheers~

Hey man sorry to hear you're selling... You have gave me some good advice over the last year. I do need a few odd parts. A/C tensioner pulley and belt, mine was broken when I bought it. If you are willing to take off your transmission mounts without selling the transmisssion that would be sweet too, if not no big deal. My O2 sensor is shit too so again... also if you have clear signals in the front I'd take those as well. Thanks -Eric

Thanks, Justn.

Smoken, I got the inbox full notification. I'll get back to you as soon as I have things taken off the car. I am not willing to pull miscellaneous engine parts off, though. If it's motor-related, then the whole motor goes. That being said, I have a 3.5, so I'm not sure if those parts would've fit anyway.

~Cheers~

You should sell it as a whole, I'm sure someone wants to drive that JDM mobile around. Tony, you should buy it!

Yeah, Tony, drop the 3.5 into your 97!

Anyway, for those wondering about the interior, it looks like this:

The colour is this one:

Art - i'll leave this thread open for now as a means to discuss why you are parting etc etc... create a seperate thread in the black market for anything related to the part out (i.e... parts requests)

if the thread begins to turn into a part out thread, i'll lock it down... leave all transactions in black market...

Are you done being dramatic yet? As far as I know, this thread is a waste of bandwidth since this thread is filled with useless jabber and you still haven't discussed why you are parting.....

Sorry, sorry. This is why:

Tire came off the rim on an uphill right hander, and the rear went into the wall. Rear end bounced back out and my nose went into the wall. I was sideways as the hill crested, with the car at a 45° angle bouncing on two wheels. I counter-steered as soon as it was clear, and brought the car back down, but with no tires on the driver's side, the car kept turning. I counter-steered again, but ran out of room as the car was straightening and hit the curb on the other side of the road, coming to a stop.

A Good Samaritan stopped and stayed with me until a friend who happened to be driving by pulled over to help me and take photos. 3 different groups of friends happened to be driving past the scene a few minutes after this photo was taken as well, prompting calls/mail since they all recognised my car.

In the end, four squad cars came pretty quickly after I called to block the road so the flatbed could come get me.

One really messed up part was that the flatbed operator and his boss offered to take my car off my hands as they finished loading it. Trying to take advantage of someone who just was in an accident is unbelievable. To top it off, they didn't offer to pay anything, but made it sound like they were doing YOU a favour by charging you $250+ to take it!

All in all, that time was one of the worst. Exactly one week prior, I hit a pothole. This is the pothole, and what happened:

A few days later, it was shoddily patched. Figures that SF is painting useless bike lanes all over the place, when roads need to be properly repaired.

So there you have it, the reasons for my parting out. Hope you enjoyed the read.

~Cheers~

Fuuuuuck! (sorry, no other words to describe this). I'm really sorry to hear this man. I know that feeling of your car sitting on the street all messed up and some blood-sucking tow truck drivers are breathing down your neck with some bullshit.

These TLs are becoming more rare every day, and now we lost another one. Sad.

Holy crap! Well it's good that you got away without injuries. I still think that you should keep everything and swap them over to a clean shell, but that's just my opinion. I understand that it might take awhile to find a clean one around your area, but are you interested in getting one from another state? If so, I'll keep an eye out for you on any clean shell with a good price around my area.

Only the one that got damaged was Tony's tail, since I only needed the left one.

I have been looking all over the west coast, but nothing good has come up. The ones that were good ended up being sold to someone local.

Well there's a pretty clean silver 3.2 in Houston, but I'm not so sure if you want to go that far and/or get it transported back.

It looks like your luck is as good as mine right now. I wish you the best bro and hope we can stay in touch. After my tl gets fixed I'm evaluating it as well. I'm selling my Jeep and I'm thinking of purchasing another tl or something with Turbo. If it wasn't for my recent break down I'd scoop up what I can from you. I'm glad your safe, but wow those potholes are ruthless! What are your future plans with possibly another car?

Thanks guys. The headlights were taken apart to remove the projectors, and I was just running JDM black chromes at the time of the accident. Needless to say, they were destroyed as well.

I've been too busy to really start taking the car apart, but I will be updating this thread and a BM thread when I get started.

~Cheers~

^ Thanks, man. No one is compensating me for anything because they patched everything up 3 days later. Just like how the girl who scraped my entire front bumper and destroyed my license plate while I was parked got away with it, even though they took measurements and everything lined up.

My next ride is a bicycle. A right hand drive bicycle. Left hand is for cigarette.

~Cheers~
