nubie questions?

I am buying a 97 3.2 TL. The purchase price of the car depends on the fact that it needs to have the timing belt done ( 106K). What does it usually cost for the belt and water pump for these cars? The other thing that I noticed was that the cooling fan runs for a long time after the engine is shut off- more that 5 min.
Is this normal? When driving the temp is normal.
Thanks

I have a '97 3.2 TL and just asked an Acura dealer the same question.
They told me to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time will run around $1000.

I just had my timing belt and water pump replaced on my '97 tl 2.5. Got it done at the Acura dealer and it only costed me about 600.

When my '98 turned 100K, I simply bought a new timing belt, a new thermostat, and a new water pump and brought it in to the dealer. They charged me only for labor and the total cost was about $350. The total cost for the parts was about $150.

$150 bones for all that......was it OEM? Just the water pump alone is about $150.00...

that's good to know, i did not think Dealer allows parts to be brought from outside for them to work on.

yeah i thought so too... unless maybe if u bring them OEM Honda parts they may agree to work on it... but then again they may not warranty the products...
