Noob just bought a 96 tl 3.2
Wassup everyone, so I bought a 96 TL 3.2 with 181xxx miles and wanted to rebuild this ground up. I've always wanted this car since I was a teen now I finally own one. There is a lot of work to be done with this car and I need help or advise on a lot of things for this vehicle. First off let me say the check engine light is on, the abs makes a buzzing sound. I think there's an oil leak because a little smoke comes out from the motor but don't know where. It has body damage to the rear bumper. Front bumper it's hanging. Heater doesn't really blow out hot air unless idle @ 2000 rpm. I don't know much about cars and want to make this a project car for some JDM VIP looking type vehicle. Money not an issue to buy any parts but I want to do it myself so I can become more experience. Any and all feed back it welcome. I'm new to this forum so when I can upload photo I will to show you all. Thanks

I'm new here, too, and I don't know much about cars, but I will say welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! Once you get the problems fixed you will love driving it. I have a '98 3.2 TL and it is the best car I've ever driven. Good luck on your project!

Thanks! This looks like a great resource and there seem to be a lot of nice people here. It's rare when I see first generation TLs on the road and I get excited when I do. Apparently, this is where they're all hiding!

Yeah, the search function is your best friend. There are lots of DIY threads and solutions to many problems specific to this platform. Where are you guys located?
Tec_ninja... maybe you could upload your pictures to a site like photobucket and post the IMG link here.
SheRuns... so true when anyone mentions the TL it's either the 3rd gen or the 2nd gen with tranny problems.
