Midrange/Midbass Speaker question

Ok, so my Acura 2.5TL has two mid-range (mid-bass) 1.5'' speakers that go above where the dome light is. These speakers are very hard to find nowadays but after some research I found some. I am going to replace the original speakers with two 1.5'' Bose mid-bass speakers off of a 2000 Chevy Tahoe. The connectors are different from Honda, but I already the connectors (GM) so so all I have to do is 'crimp' them.

My question is: do I need to alter the current that flows through these speakers by adding a resistor? From my understanding--considering I don't know anything about stereo systems but some knowledge in Circuits--I'm pretty sure that there is a specific amount of current that flows through the Front Speakers, Rear Speakers, and Tweeters which is controlled by a Head Unit or an Audio crossover to prevent unwanted sounds.

I don't know the specs of these Bose speakers, but I am assuming that they have the same function as the ones Panasonic designed for the 2.5TL. Can anybody please answer my question? :bawling:

To be honest it should b fine just hookin it up, if anything the tweeters might have a different wattage output, but if their both designed for a stock radio then it should b fine, I hooked up a mtx tweeter I'm the middle of my dash and all I did was connect it to the front driver dash tweeter, I works and is lo,ud have you tried going to junk yards? I popped some spare stock ones out of a tl here, but an aftermarket tweeter is gunna sound better that the original

Why not add more clarity and do 2-way speakers? Just a thought bro.

They're 5cm 8-Ohm midranges meant to compliment the other speakers.

~Cheers~

I believe the technical term for them is 'Twiddlers'. As in tweeters/midrange

If you're running a stock headunit, those speakers are using that second blue plug.

If you're running aftermarket, you should run some resistors. Otherwise they'll be louder than they should be.

Thanks a lot guys. I read a thread somewhere around here about someone who put two resistors in series (purchased from RadioShack) so I'll do the same. Thanks!
