yeah, like 96TL said, car dealers want your trade in as much stock as possible. so when i finally trade in the TL, i would have to either take a hit on the trade in value or rip out the gauges...both ideas suck so eh, i've been driving the car for 6 years with the stock gauges, whats another 1-2 years before i trade it i????

BTW, now if only they mass produced the inspire tail lights, then i would have to get those.

NO ITS REALLY EASY TO INSTALL, THE ONLY THING I WARN YOU ABOUT IS THE TWO VENTS IN THE MIDDLE THEY BREAK REALLY EASY SO BE CAREFULL. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK THEM OFF THEY DIDNT BREAK BUT THE SECONED TIME THEY JUST SNAPED RIGHT OFF.

don't we have to be careful with the needles? i hear if we push them too hard or don't get them just right, they'll stick or something.

does anybody have detailed instructions on how to change them
ar do I have to go to a shop
I install one of those gauges to a friend on his f-150
and 2 needles didn't move and it was kind of hard to put them on
then we have to take it out
do we have to take off the factory gauges first ?

if we have to how do we take the needles off ?
I read that we shouldn't mess with the needles
help please

I can tell you what you need to do to take the cluster out. I'm not sure exactly how these guages mount on though. Maybe they mount directly over the stock ones, maybe not. Maybe they slide over the needles, maybe not. If you need to take the needles off that really sucks.

The RPM needle you can put back on 0. Just do it with the key on, but not running. I think it moves a little bit before you turn the key on. Just remember what your car idles at when its warm.

The speedo just put to 0 but like with the RPM guage, make sure the key is on.

The fuel gauge you can probably mark the gas level before you take the needle off or just drive your car until the gas light is on or fill it up all the way.

The temp guage is a little harder. You can just wait until the car is warm, mark where the needle stays, install the guages, let the car run for a little while until you're sure its warm and put the needle where the mark was. Its probably a little under halfway.

I'd think these guages are made to slide over the needles so it should be pretty easy to install them. You'll probably have to take the screws holding the factory guages off. The guages will not come off, they'll just move around. Slide the Indiglos over the needles, line up the holes, and put the screws back in. Call them up and ask them. Good luck.

thanks man
they slide
but the one I did for the ford f-150 it didn't have no screws so maybe that is why the needles didn't move maybe with ours the screws make more pressure and that helps right ?

I'll get ines next tuesday see how it goes thanks

The needles don’t have any screws. They just pop off. The gauges have 2 little ones. All they do is hold the guages face in place.

but if we keep the stock ones and we slide the indiglo ones wouldn't be too tick and that is why the needles won't move
maybe we have to ake the stock ones (i don't know )
I don't want to mess up my gauges

I dont know if you'd have to take off the stock ones. If you do, then you need to re-calibrate the needles which is a pain in the a$$.

ok if you look at the product pictures you don't see a lil slit where we can just slide the guauges over the old one. i think we have to unscrwe the old one and take it all apart, that goes for the needle too.

I've never seen a slit in any of them. You just bend them and slide the needle through the hole in the center. I'm pretty sure thats the way it works.

You can get indiglo guages and do the LED conversion to all the buttons and switches.

i think the led conversion would look much better.... especailly with a superwhite cluster... so i am trying to keep myself from buying these guages for the TL...
