I have heard that you can do that, but I dunno ,this not having a clutch to really complete the process annoys me. so I do not do that. However starting off in D3 , is faster I have noticed, and you can mash it till you get to 4000rpm, then shift up, mashing it longer than that, will produce some type of weird lag in repsonsivesness. If clicked up at the right time at 4000 rpm it will shift pretty nice in to fourth providing that last bit of kick after a strong start from 3rd. Third gear hold a very very very long time on my car, it will pull till about 75 then the engine will start screamin
My car will peel out from a stand still in fourth, but in 3rd it will really peel, when mashed. I do not do this often. I am scared of any extra work on the engine. Even though if taken care properly, our 5 cylinder engine is basically bullet proof. The old Vigors you see rollin around are a testament to that.
Now jus imagine real quik if our car had a stick shift conversion kit!!! I htink the 5 would be a serious contender matted to a slick manula tranny, like that of an integra. Those bastard integras and civics would really have hell off the line!!

I doubt it will do any damage to the car, or the set up would not be the way it is to allow you the option of driving it that way, so yeah i doubt it, but i know it drains more gas, and I hate the gas station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rarely do this but sometimes at red light, i shift the gear down to D3 so that i can have a better start at green, then D4 after that.

I do this quite a bit, in traffic I drive in D3 and at lights I tend to shift in D3. When it rains heavy at the light I shift into D2. I have even shifted into first at the light and gone up with no problems(this I do rarely). I use D3 all the time.

I will shift to D3 if I have to stop fast for a red light or something. It actually takes stress off the brakes. I have tried shifting from 1 all the way up to 4, but it's kinda pointless, unless your in nasty weather or bad traffic. But I'm pretty sure it's good for your brakes if you need to stop fast and down shift from D4 to D3 or even to D2.

hey i'm wondering if driving in D3 consistantly might do some damage to our cars? i mean if you do mostly city driving would D3 be ok? i'm guessing we're going at most 50 mph. cause i've heard that it might stress the engine too much, i dunno.

when i line it up with people I have put it into 1 and red lined it, 2 red lined it, and so on, up till 100 MPH and it runs strong, and it really does kick hard going from 1 to 2, and 2 to 3, so far no problems, but who knows in the long run, I have heard its not really that bad at all for it, as long as u dont go INTO red line doing it.....
