After Market Head Unit --> Now No AM Radio

Guys, has anyone run into the problem of installing an after market head unit (I installed a Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS) and then no longer receiving AM radio (but FM radio seems to be ok)? If so, what's the fix?

I looked online (and here) and called Pioneer and it appears that sometimes installers forget to connect a cord (blue w/ white stripe) to the auto antenna relay or antenna amp? I'm going to be double checking with the installer this week to see if this was the problem.

I also tried to determine if my 1997 3.2 TL has an antenna amplifier that the Pioneer can hook up with to boost the FM/AM radio reception, and it looks like it does (at least I found OEM 97 TL "trunk mounted antenna amplifiers" on Ebay). But Pioneer also said this original unit may be incompatible with the new head unit I got . . . has anyone replaced the antenna amplifier with an after market? If so, which one do you recommend?

Thanks everyone!
