P1457??? where is vapor canister???

Can anyone tell me where on the car the evap canister is located? I recently purchased a scan tool and I pulled the code p1457. the tool said the #1 reported fix is replacement of the cvc valve or the shut valve. Has anyone had this code before and how did you fix it??? Also, I cannot find many diagrams on the internet for this car. Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!!!

EVAP canister is behind front bumper, underneath the driver side headlight. Remove the bumper and maybe some plastic cover also. You will see it there..

How long you have that check engine light on for? Is your gas cap tight closed (about 5 clicks)?

It's been on and off for a few weeks now. I get frustrated looking at it so I clear it but it comes back after a few startups. I've read about the gas cap causing this code and I will double check it and make sure the cap is on tight, clear the code and see what happens. Could it possibly be a worn out gas cap?? Also, when the CEL comes on, does the engine ALWAYS go into open loop or does it depend on what caused the code?? I've noticed my mpg is terrible recently but I'm not sure if it's the CEL causing this or if it's something else.

Yes, a worn out gas cap cause that. Not sure about the open loop but yea your MPG will go down.

Not related to the code but to mileage, will a P0401 EGR insufficient flow reduce MPG, too?

Try disconnecting the battery and clearing the CEL if it stays off you should get your MPG back having an issue myself I still can't figure itout I did this the CEL stayed off and bam MPG back.
