i had the same problems with mine it turns on and when i drove it and turn it off and than try to get it back on it didnt work, i had to wait like a hour to get it back on....
i finally found out that it was the ftw tempereture sensor that wass messed up, i try new battery, new starter, ignition, main relay until i got the ftw temp. sensor changed it and is been workin fine since than..... so u might wanna try that it only costs bout 30-40 bucks and u can change it yourself...well i hope this helps

my acura tl 2.5
i swap a new engine for my 96 acuar tl 2.5 and the car doesnt crank at all. I checked the starter, battery, alternator and everythings seems to be working and still the car doesnt crank, theres nothing wrong with my engine wire harness.

Check for spark w/ timing light attached to one lead. No flash= no spark.
good luck

i tried everything still my car doesnt seem to crank. i replaced the neutral safety switch i got from a 93 vigor, i found out that that wasnt the problem, my neutral switch is still good, when i put my car to neutral i see the neutral light on my cluster but i dont see park or reverse when i set it as that. I tried to test my starter and there seems to be no electricity involved that would start up the starter. i'am guessing that it might be my anti lock security thats not making my starter to crank,i cant find my security module. I need help, all i did was swapped in a new engine in my 2.5 tl and it wont seem to start. Did i reset a electrical part. Is there a ground wire somewhere on the engine that i forget to put in.

Security module can be by passed and the car will start
There Is a small gold box it's the last one in behind the passenger air bag area. Ground the back or black and yellow wire before it reaches the box to a good ground. I installed a hidden grounding switch there and now i manually turn the switch if I know everything else is good and now I have a secret starter cut switch someone can steel my car and to start every time.

Damn phone i have to write tjis again. Okay well check big fuses lisen for main relay click but really good idea to test it. Also all across have yo have the wheels straight before you shut it of or the inter lock pin in the ignition gets stuck. It won't want to turn when people force it all kinds of issues happen like key won't stay in the key cylinder and you might end up using neutral to start the car or check the inter lock module by the main relay and starter relay. Clean contacts see if that works. This is a recall on all Acuras. Try moving the steering wheel from right to left as you turn the ignition. Lock pin will sometimes get stuck if you have your tiers turned. Check power to starter next. If brake light work brake switch okay. If you have lose center council the gear selector won't read the right gear. If it shows on the dash what gear you are in then you know it's registering to the Tcm but you might have a gear bulb out.
