2000RL

It’s looking like I may have to be replacing the key cylinder on my 2000 Acura RL because I’m experiencing trouble turning it to the off position to remove my key when I shut the car off. I assume that this cylinder is just mechanical, and is independent from my coded key and immobilizer unit. The Acura tumbler kit (06721-SH3-415) I “assume” will come with a new key which I will then have to have coded to my immobilizer unit (that’s not a problem because I have the Red Learning key,) it will just add to the cost of the repair. I’m also thinking maybe a locksmith could just replace the tumbler to fit my current key too, but would like to know if any forum members have experienced this issue and what steps I need to take. I'm "assuming" a lot here (never a good idea) so if any one can "enlighten" me I would be grateful.
