Tail lights stay on

I have a 1997 Acura RL and the tail lights will not go off when I stop the engine. The brake lights are on as well. Any suggestions?

definitely brake light switch.

Should be this I believe...

Or if the switch appears to be in okay condition but this pad broke: https://www.oemacuraparts.com/oem-pa...9tYXRpYw%3D%3D

It prevent the switch from being depressed as well.

^I would grab an autozone brake light switch for a few dollars instead of the OEM one for $36

The rubber pad on the brake pedal has broken.

There are replacements at autoparts stores or you could also use a bolt/nut.

when you say rubber grommet, do you mean the one touching the pedal? it sounds like that is the issue. get under the steering wheel and look up. you will see it. Brake or Clutch Pedal Stop Pad 46505-SA5-000 for Honda/Acura
