definitely brake light switch.

It prevent the switch from being depressed as well.

for a car that old, I'd opt for that cheaper option as well..

when you say rubber grommet, do you mean the one touching the pedal? it sounds like that is the issue. get under the steering wheel and look up. you will see it. Brake or Clutch Pedal Stop Pad 46505-SA5-000 for Honda/Acura
