Rattles, vibrations, or other annoyances?
Hi, I currently have a 03 TL and my wife has and 01 CL-S.
Both cars are unfortunately plagued with numerous squeaks and rattles - while some have been isolated and corrected, new ones pop up all the time... Also, both cars have an annoying driveline vibration that has not been corrected with balances, rotations, alignment, inspection of exhausts, engine mounts, etc. And let's not even mention the transmissions...
I've heard that the 96-04 RLs were built solid and were relatively trouble-free. Can anyone share experiences with their cars, and in particular, whether the cars have squeaks and rattles that will not go away?
I am looking to trade, and I would like to stay in the Acura family if I can find a nice, quiet, solid car that I can drive home after a hard day of work in peace and quiet.
Thanks in advance!

The '96 - '04 RL is for you then. It is a solid, reliable car that soaks up road imperfections and will be a very relaxing vehicle after a rough day. I've had several RL's as a rental/loaner and loved them for their intended purpose, a quiet smooth highway cruiser.

Fabvsix,
Did your black/black RL come with the black wood trim also? I saw black wood trim on an 04 with the light grey interior and it looked really good - at the moment, that is what I think I am holding out for...

no it didn't, but sure wish it did. I think that was a limited edition as you don't see many of them......I had NO choice as this was the last black on black in stock brand new with 2 miles on it and discounted $8000.00 which was NEVER HEARD OF until word of the new 05 RL was in the works, so they discounted them and I drove off like I stole it !

Im a proud 1997 RL Owner
I purchased my 97 RL December 2004. I really love it. I have always owned sports cars and to go from that type of a ride to a RL is a huge difference. It has such a smooth ride. Keep in mind that my vehicle is a 97(in excellent condition). I wonder how the 99-2004's feel. I really like the body as well, but I love my 97.

RL is by far the best of 11 Cars Owned
Think the title says it all - but in summary, the ride is great (reminds me of the 1950's Caddy) ; the handling and power is more than adequate ; reliability is good - only one problem after 72k (ABS light) ; and its good on fuel (avg 25 MPG) and easy on tires (2nd set after 66k). If I had to go for another set of wheels, there would be no doubt it'll be another RL. Had this RL for about 4 years now.
