new wheels for my RL

im looking to buy some wheels for my '96 RL. right now i still have the stock rims on it and its the only thing about the car that looks kind of akward to me. Im a college student with a low paying summer job, so i cant spend $3,000 on fancy wheels. if anyone knows where i can get a nice set for around $1,500 please let me know.

Check out http://www.tirerack.com/ … you can see the prices and what the wheels will look like on your RL.

Tirerack

You could try getting some used RL wheels from say around 1999 to 2004. Also try Legend or TL wheels.

Ebay...I found a set of RL wheels that were standard equipment on the 1998 Special Edition model, and I think they're probably the best looking OEM RL wheel (those and the 2002 wheels). I'm kinda tempted to buy a set, but the look would be such a subtle change from the 2000 wheels. It's a brand new set, and it's only $600 for buy-it-now.

I'm with you...the 1996 wheels looked really bad (and look really hard to clean).

rims

What size and what styles are you interested in? Yeah the rims suck. They should recall them and send us a new set...

Either 18s or 19s. nothing too flashy. No spinners or 20" for me, just something that will make me grin everytime i see my car. About that recall...........

I found these on wheelsnext. The picture is of the 19" HP Racing wheels in hyper black. Im looking at the 18 x 8(Front) +18x9(Rear) wheels. They come with 225/40/18(Front) + 245/40/18(Rear) tires. The package costs 1,299. I think its a good deal, but i've never bought wheels before so i cant be sure. I want to know what kind of tires come with the package but thats not specified on the site. I don't want to have to replace them as soon as they arrive. And if anyone can tell me the reliability of the site and the wheels id really appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure those rims will not fit good on the RL. I think the rear 9" wheel will be too wide for the RL. My rims are 8" wide i believe and if they were any wider they would probably be sticking out quite a bit. Anyways I think the rims on the rear are too wide to fit, but I could be wrong.

Hello: I have complete set of wheel rims and tires with only 2500 miles in it. These are take off wheels from RL 2005. I am not sure if these would fit your car. Please around and post your comment if you are interested...

I would be interested. How much would you be willing to sell them for? And what is the bolt pattern on the wheels?

And as for the 18x9" not fitting my car, they also sell 18x8" F and R for $300 less than the 18x8" F and 18x9" R.

I am not sure what is the bolt pattern but I know its got five bolts in it. Send me an email. art-tan@sbcglobal.net. Tell me how to get the measurement, if it going to fit your car then well talk about the price. It not going to be that much. I just want to get rid of them...

Steering Wheel Wood Color

Hello: have anyone notice wood color variations between wood steering wheel and the existing wood trims came with the car (RL)? I recently ordered RL wood steering wheel from one of Acura dealer. I sent it back - reason was wood color does not match. Wood steering wheel was darker and existing one was lighter. Thanks - art

Here's a wheel by MRR Wheel that would look great on our RLs. Assuming you are in Chi-town, a company called D2 Autosports (I think in CT) can be had for under 1k. I know they have our size in the 18s.

I live just west of O'hare, so the city is close. Does D2 Autosports have a website?
