Navigation Hacks

Hi Everyone,

So I was doing some research for the navigation system for our vehicles today because I'm buying a different map region. But that is somewhat besides the point.

While conducting my research, I discovered that the 3rd generation TLs have some pretty sweet hacks they can do to the navigation system.

Is there anything like that for us?

Maybe someone with some serious computer skills can figure a thing or two out? I dabbled in the hidden service menu some today, but am by no means qualified for writing code.

The only RL with a (easily) 'hackable' navigation system would be the '04 model.

The '00 - '03's use the black DVD system which can be modified to some extent. I'd check the 2nd gen TL forum for best results on that.

I'm not sure what would be involved for upgrading your '98's system.

Speaking of Navi, does anyone think it's worth upgrading to the 2012 map packs if I still have my original 2002 one? Besides the map updates, there's nothing else really different.... is there?

Just maps. For me, it made sense with all the new construction, your area may vary.

Thanks, I probably would get it if the routing guidance was a little better.

Oh well.....
