Line-X
Has anyone had their RL bumpers, mirrors, lower rocker panel, grille, or other parts sprayed with Line-X?
Post pictures & share your experience if you have. Thanks.

MOST people dont do this to their passenger sedan luxury cars.
i've seen some people do it to their beaters..
and of course i've seen trucks do it.
but if you are asking the Acura crowd, or the semi-sport-entry-level luxury car segment, we'll tell you..NO that's crazy talk to rhino-line bumpers
but really it's not all that different than having a steady hand and spray consistently....as that's what I think you are really asking for....
if you want the line-x/rhino lined bumper....buy a can and test it out!!!!!!

General appearance is a concern, but enhanced ding/dent protection, a reduction in touching up nicks in the paint, and waxing are what I'm looking for.

Sounds like a logical idea Rex, no one has done it yet but doesn't mean you can't be the first!
In for pics when you get it all done!!

Wow. Well, this was an interesting read... Just a suggestion here, they make clear films for this very problem. I have no clue as to how much Line-X would cost for an entire car to even chip in on what's more cost conscious considering your car' age... Interestingly enough, I googled this and Line-Xing an entire car has been done before.

I'm detailing my 2000 RL tomorrow (I do it every six months), and I find it is good therapy. My RL and I bond as one through the process and when I'm done I can step back and actually see the results of my labor. It also allows me to notice things I might ordinarily miss when not paying close attention to my 17 y/o vehicle. You can't find a car this well-built at a reasonable price anymore except as used cars and the first gens are rapidly disappearing (as are OEM and aftermarket parts), so if a little TLC is what's required to keep these great looking boulevard cruisers on the road it's well worth it in my humble opinion.

The only 'damage' on my '98 is found on the plastic bumper covers... I would be happy if I found somebody that could repair & refinish them to match the rest of the car.

pline x rhino liner, whatever yo call it, will only make the RL look like a lump of doo doo. DONT DO IT. If you want to patch up the bumpers, blastic dip them.
I have seen the linex in person, looks like a boy racer was bored out of his mind and messed up his ride.

I happen to like the look of Line-X, but I was also an early adopter because I had some of the exterior on my truck done in the 90's.
To each his own.
