Thx. So for the TSX coilover, I only need to reuse the top mount and leave out any rubber washers? Because I remember some member have trouble with the noise from the coilover due to the washer. Sorry, I have to ask and get the right info. Because I'm paying the shop to install it. I really hate to let them remove the coilover again if anything goes wrong that would be more money out of the pocket.

I don't know who had problems, but I do know that coming from the person that originally found out TSX coilovers would work he reused his oem top hats with no issues.

As far as removing the top rubber from the mount that's your call. I personally don't think it would be a good idea as you would get metal to metal contact than might make noises as well.

Ok, I think I'm going to get the Tein Street Advance with the 16 levels of damper setting, but the spring rate it is only 8kgf front/4kgf rear. It looks like it is going to be a really bouncing and easily bottom out once its on the RL. I emailed the seller to see if they can get the me new spring rate from the TL which is 12front/6rear, is it a good idea? Or should I stick with 8front/4rear?BTW, I'm still confusing where to add the washer in the rear after reading so many threads lol. Do I add the 1 or 2 washers in the bottom for the rear? The pic is small, so you need to zoom in a little bit. Thx.

yup that's the way it is. just need to find some grade 10 washers the thicknes you need.

As far as rates that's not bad. I think most of the jdm kits are 10k front and 4k rear. This is off the top of my had though its been years since I researched this stuff.

My RL is lowered, but on Koni struts. Originally 1.5" front and 1" rear. Brought it up a little bit since then though.

Koni red struts from the Legend? What lower springs did you used? I'm still deciding on which method is the best for the RL.

Yes konis for the legend. You have to find an OEM legend front strut to take the front pinchforks off, brake line bracket, and spring perch.

I'm using the oem springs. I simply had my local machince shop make some new grooves to adjust them however I wanted.

As far as whats best, that's entirely a personal decision. Not one way is better than the other. It all depends on what your trying to achieve.

I personally wanted an oem feel ride just lower. The konis are a little stiffer than oem 02-04 struts, but other than that its awesome if you don't want to lower the car to much.

Has anyone dealt with camber kits/adjustments?
Assuming the rears would be the same with the TL/TSX/Accord variety?
What about the ball joints/UCA's?

no.

jk lol

i have a 97 RL
i am running MEGAN RACING coilovers for the TSX
i ordered upper mounts for a KA8 legend from ksport

front and back upper mounts need to be replaced
no spacer needed in the back
i needed to modify the front uppermounts to accept the factory strut bar.

spc ball joint type camber kit in front
megan racing accord rear camber arms in the back

im currently maxed out on these coils in the back
and only 2 com adjustment left in the front

2.5 degress of camber in the back and 1.3 in front.
my fender lines are half destroyed and half hanging on for dear life in the front.

i am running 19x8.5 +35 225/35/19

Thx for taking the time to post the pics! You car look so clean, man. I wish I have the money right now, I have to pay for my classes Hopefully I will be able to get the Tien coilover next year. Btw, do you mind telling me how much did you get the Legend top hat from Ksport? All you did is put on the top hat from ksport without the rubber isolator right? Btw, how is the Coilover holding up? I hear a lots of negative feedbacks from them. Thx again.

Quick question, where did you get the Ksport strut mount? I went on ksport and they only have the whole coilover? Did you call or email them?

Alright. I want to lower my rl. Anyone that has used the 95 Legend springs have and ride issues? With the RL being heavier and the spring rates being different I dont want a squishy ride. Any guys have an rl lowered on legend springs? Id like to see what setup you went with and how you like it!

I don't know anyone off the top of my head, but the fronts should be just fine as the engine is the same. I do believe the rear will be a little softer. Will it sit lower in the rear than what its supposed to... don't know.

Please re-read.

You won't find any under 500. You have a lot of reading and researching to do.

Newbie here, but been doing a lot of research for lowering my 96 RL.

Here's my question, is it possible to use TSX adjustable coilover springs with TSX koni struts? I know you can use the full coilover kits like the ksports and tein, but my money is tight so just want to lower it with as little money being spent until I can save up for some legit coilovers.

my 02 is due for strut replacement. not looking to lower the car but is ok if i do. there used to be a quick-strut that contained all the parts necessary to perform the change but they do not appear to be available anymore. Does anyone know of a source for them or an economical option?

Sorry I think I asked this question already, however I never received a correct answer. So i'm going to ask it again lol. I'm planning to get a coilover soon, probably Tein SS or street basis from 04 TL. I know the TL coilover will work because some member installed it already. So my question is, what parts do i need to reuse from the OEM shock? The top hat and nuts only, or is there something else that i'm missing? I don't want to remove the top hat from my OEM shock, so I'm planning to get the top hat kit from ebay.

Good luck on finding a used lowered springs. You might want to try Monroe strut with H&R spring around $500-$600 or go full coilover. My car have 197k and I'm on BC BR coilover. 100% plug and play, no other modification needed. The ride is very smooth on even and smooth road only! However, you are noth going to get oem ride quality out of a coilover. You can feel every details on the street. On bumpy street you can feel it, hard lol!

218k is nothing for these car if you taken good care off. I'm just assuming you did not do a good job on that lol. Both the strut and the lower spring I mentioned is from the ka7/8. It requires some works, or you can get the cheapest coilover from the TSX around $600 and install it yourself to save money. I installed the BC coilover and it took me 7 hours lol, not bad for my first job hahaaa.

Nah I baby the hell outa my cars. I give it an oil change every 2,500 & I had a slow leak on my rack so instead of fixing it I changed the whole rack & pinion & did new tie rods cause I sleep better @ night! LoL I just don't feel like buying something that needs all this customization just to make it fit. Just wana swap the springs & be done with it. U feel me! I'm still on the prowl 4 them springs ! I'm almost tempted to buy the 95 legend springs. Do they bolt right up??

Quick answer, Legend springs will not work with RL OEM strut, but RL springs will work with Legend strut. Don't blame me lol.

I think 20" is over kill lol. I don't know, does it also raise your car up? I'm planning to go 18" and I'm on coilover; I want to have some tire to maintain a comfy ride. You might want to look for a used Tein basis from the TSX or TL, that's the cheapest.

Yea I had 18's on but it looked way to funky for me! Too small of a wheel size without being dropped. I'm not one for too much tire on a rim. 1st I have 2 find a trustworthy shop by me to tinkle around with my suspension to mix & match parts to make if work.

I thought I did a short review on the BC? Anyway, yes the BC coilover is 100% PnP, no need to do any modification. For the ride, it is comfy on a smooth road, on uneven or a lots of pot holes you can feel everything! I have to say it feels similar to a 05 Civic but stiffer lol. BTW my coilover is less than 700 miles, so it is kind of stiff. Based on the staffs from BC they told me that it requires a breakin period which is 1000-3000 miles.

Hmm, that's not good, do not want to spoil the ride so much, it is not a sports car after all .

Can someone explain the easiest spring/shock combo that can be used mostly PnP? I read about the Koni Red shock with multiple perches. Is that easy to install or need modifications? Can I have a part number? Looking for a mild 1-1.25" drop max. Thanks.

Lol 1-1.25" drop is nothing, you might as well stay stock to save money. If you are going to be lowered it is going to be 1.75" minimum, once you are lowered you keep want to lower even more! Hey, you need to pay to play man, it is a trade off on the ride but you get the look and the handling is just amazing. Anyway, I do notice that the coilover is soften now, it has a nice balance between stiff and soft. Bottom line, I like it a lots and I'm going to lower it even more even though I'm scraping every where I go hahaa .

Accord rear camber arms are from the 98 to 02
if you can manage to find a jdm company you my have better luck if your looking for the onicamber thing.

just for everyones knowlage

04 TSX coilovers cross over to the accord of the same generation.
TL coilovers crossover to the accord aswell

from this we can say that

TL TSX ACCORD = RL compatible (with OEM or KA8 uppermounts)

the KA8 uppermounts will fit. but you have to drill the strut holes for the tower bar.

More up to date pic!

I know what you are saying, but I do not want to hinder the ride of the RL too. See my sig to see how I have my sporty side covered for now
