Okay, so after seeing 99BlackHatch's picture of a Honda Legend and me wondering what the parking pole is, I decided to look into what other features got deleted from the Japanese model upon import. And some of these you will just want so bad!

Power Folding Mirrors
Parking Pole
TV in the navigation screen for Nav Models (TV!!! Can you believe it?!?)
Turning indicators in the front fenders.

And there may be more. But, gosh, TV would be cool!

Oh and aluminum trim on the kick plates right where you open the door.

AND there was a coupe made for our first gen RLs, and I'm not talking about the American Acura Legend Coupe. But the Japanese Honda Legend Coupe.

Sorry for posting so much everyone! I'm trying to make a complete list, so that maybe we can try to retrofit some of this stuff into our cars. Although it might be easier just to buy one.

Wow I feel stupid! I love the look of the estate RL though! Too bad it's not real. That person did great photoshop work.

Overseas the RL came with rear heated and reclining seats.


IN the UK there was another revision on the power steering rack ( I believe to tighten up the suspension as stock is pretty sloppy)


There is also the rear dehumidifier/ac thing.


The factory upgraded speakers.




The door sills can be found on the 04 RL that actually say "Acura" as well as chrome door poppers. (they get hot in the sun though)

See, had Acura/Honda not deleted all these features from the KA9 for the US, it would have been a serious competitor for the Lexus LS. Rear heated seats that could recline would be awesome!

I don't understand why some of this stuff didn't continue on into the KB1. Again, would really raise the Acura image as a luxury brand.

door sills are stock on 04 RL


the pedals I believe to be for a 03 TL




Oh and the Legend has had rear reclining heated seats since 90.

Yup. all '04 have the door sills... be jealous kids.

And the only parts I'm currently looking for are the power folding mirrors... which you'll have to modify your window controls to fit the button for the folding mirrors, because from what i have seen or noticed... they have a button for folding mirrors, but we have a button for the heated mirrors...

FYI the door sills from 99-03 are identical. I removed the aluminum plates from the 04 style and the plastic is the same underneath. I drilled holes in my door sills from 99 to work.

Front seat TV/video playback isn't legal in the US unless the car is parked, so that's why Honda didn't bother.

Japan and a couple other markets also got optional high-quality wood, leather and thick wool carpeting as well.
