Wow, I'm speechless. My car is puffing some smoke @ 190K, and I wonder what kind of oil did he or she used?

It's not the kind of oil you use... it's how well you maintain the car and how often you change it.

There was a guy that owned a Porsche 911, if i recall, and whenever he went out driving and the car his a 3,000 oil change interval... he would pull over, call a flat bed and have the car towed into the dealership. It didn't matter what he was doing or where he was going, the car would not exceed the 3,000 mile oil change interval for anything.

People that are this strict with maintenance are the ones that survive to see the miles we have been seeing lately and hopefully more.

^^^That guy was a poor planner. If he knew the interval was coming up, he should have mapped to ensure his 3000th mile destination WAS the dealership.

Lol. Poor planner... or rich enough to not care about where he ended up.

Agreed... another option could be this...

OCD about being exact on 3,000 mile intervals. God, that would suck to be that a*al retentive about stuff like that. Yuck

Lol at the 3k oil tow guy. Sure it's important to keep clean oil in your car, but that's just idiotic. Use a decent oil like amsoil or mobil synthetic and it will be fine after 7-8k miles.
