Hi
I have a 2001 Rl which I really love,lately I have been noticing different noises.
Especially when I make a right turn ,it sounds like a cracking noise.
Another noise is coming from the left rear.
Its like a rattling noise ..when I go over bumps I hear the left rear wheel vibrates...what could it be ?
I have no idea what it is..I did replace 2 sway bars about 6 months ago.
Someone told me it could be my axles ...
If it is the axles can I replace them with after market ones?

Hard to diagnose sounds over the internet. Its probably ball joints or bushings. See if the dealer will diagnose for free.

I agree with you.. I have a friend that introduced me to a mechanic that works at Acura..
He drove with me ..its so weird the car didn't make alots of noises like it used to..I noticed in cold weather i heard more cracking noises.
But at one time he heard that noise I'm describing ..he said it 's probably Anchor bolts.
He said all the RL's are well known for the Another bolts to go bad...But he said its not the Axles I was turning in parking lot ..he said if it was the axle you can hear the clicking noises when turning .
I hear the clicking noise sounds like cracks in sharp turns...
He can't tell the rattling noise in the back...
I am thinking just take the car to Acura and have them diagnose it..
Getting tired of guessing ..
By the way anchor bolts are $73 a piece. they come as kit

Another noise when I go straight over uneven road /bumps it rattles like the wheels is vibrating..
What do you thing it is?

The rattling noise in the back is like a train tracks..Its when ride on the train ..NOT TGV...cheap train lol..
The noise when I turn right or left is like some1 knocking on the door .
Thats my best description...

I have an 01 as well and it makes the same thumping noise from the rear. I described it as beating a large rug with a stick. Havent been able to find a cause for this, i even re-seated the spare tire.

Could be sway bar links? I replace my right one a few months ago and now my left one is starting to make a noise. It's like a hollow cracking noise over bumps. It's annoying but doesn't really affect the drive, just need to get it in to get replaced.

just wondering what do you guys think of the aftermarket sway bars?
What brand?
I called Acura they wanted $86 a piece for sway bars ..
I saw some on ebay as low as $20 for a pair.But I don't know about the quality of these bars?

When I called Acura parts the guy asked me if I was looking for sway bars or links?
I said man i have no idea ..I just got a price for sway bars..
So what the difference in sway bars and links?
