Brake differences from 96-98 to 99 and up

Brake differences from 96-98 to 99 and up

just as the title states, Is there any differences? i need to replace one of my rear caliper brackets and pins cause one of the pins froze into the bracket, and rock auto has different prices and part numbers for the different years...

I believe in 99 they got larger brake rotors and calipers

^^^ Correct.

The "Kouki" 99-04 model 3.5RL has larger calipers and rotors than the 96-98 "Zenki" model

is this both front and rear, or just front or just rear?

The TL wheels on the front end of my old '96... you can tell that the rotors don't fill the wheels like they do on the '04 as pictured below.


2004 brakes and calipers...


And here is a side view of the '96 as well... you also notice that the rear rotors are substantially smaller than those on the '04...

so from 99-02 are the rears the same size as the 96-98 or am i gonna to have to buy the slightly more expensive racket from rockauto? lolz

If you look at the Black '96 compared to the Gray '04... there is clearly a difference in size between the rears on them.

so 99 to 04 is all the same? or is there a difference between 99-01 to 02-04?

That... I do not know. I'll have to research and see if there is a difference in part numbers between the years

yea looking at parts geek, it seems there is only a difference from 96-98 to 99-04, but no info if there is any diff from 99-01 to 02-04
