ya they make pre cuts for our fogs and our headlights...they have lil handling tabs so you dont put your fingers all over it. ill try to post a few pics with the lights on so you can see. Ill post a few pics of full car shots in that new photo gallery to so you can get it with the whole car.

Thanks!
I have 55w yellow HID's for my fog-lights. Do you think adding this yellow film will wash out my yellow? (I have 55w ballasts, not standard 35w, and I think yellow on yellow creates white....right? lol).

i know yellow on yellow will not make white but depending on your color of lights/bulbs and the color of the film, it will just mix to be a blend or medium of the two yellows

Yellow bulbs and yellow film will not wash out, that is the set up i was running with for a long time. You'll be fine.

Well, here are some recent pictures from a few weeks ago from the No Star Bash drift event at Gateway Motorsports park. Had to leave early to help a friend that had car problems and while waiting for the trailer to come get the car... a group of us waited next to an abandoned school... photoshoot.
This weekend I should have some new parts to play with as well. So more pictures are coming.

^^^ It's never good when you can fit your fist between your tire and your fender well... unless it's a lifted truck.
Any plans for suspension?
I'm still shopping for some camber kits for the front and rear for our RL's... I've found a few pictures of things online, but nothing i can actually purchase. Maybe custom made is the way to go.

I just want a direct fit, no drilling no modding, at least for the moment as Iv'e been extremely busy with other stuff. Something that can be easily installed with minimal downtime until I get more time to focus on customized items.
Any suggestions?

This is what i used. I had the whole car, jacked up, installed and back down on the ground in 2 hours. The only thing i had to do was get Legend front suspension forks at the junkyard for $2 and that was the only real thing i had to do.
It was one of the easiest installs on suspension I've encountered and I've rebuild plenty of suspension setups on lowered / slammed cars.

Okay sounds good. What year legend forks should I look for? How much is yours lowered? It says 36 different levels of dampness. I'm afraid if I lower mine to your eight that it will rub if I have stuff in the trunk of people in the back..

Damping relates to the ride quality. not the ride height.
I lowered mine about 2 1/2 inches and i love it, but i put the damping on the stiffest settings, so it is a little bouncy at times. If you go about mid level on the damping, it becomes more like the stock ride style.
The Legend forks you would need would be from a 91-95 Legend. you can find those everywhere in a junk yard... or they are normal cars to find in my area at least.
And my height is fine. I rub a little only due to the new wheels setup on the car. The TL wheels with the 235/45/17 tires never rubbed and i have a full size jack and the spare tire along with a full size TL spare in the trunk and i never rubbed. You should be fine running a setup like i did.
Hope this helps.

Yes thank you. I am definitely a novice when it comes to any type of lowering etc.
So my list to buy:
Kontrol Pros
Legend Front Forks
Spacers (maybe?)
That's it...right?
This is probably the dumbest question of all, but do i need lowering springs as well? How exactly does one choose how much to lower by?

Not a problem. Feel free to ask anything you need answers to.
Here is the write up i did for the RL and the suspension install... I covered everything i believe on the build thread.
check it out and you'll see that it truly is pretty easy to do.

^^ reading sounds like a really easy install so im going to go that route probally as well. lol. ksport or fortune auto are probally going to be for me. your write up is really good and i like your height i may have to go same height as yours lol.

Yea I should have seen that write up, sorry lol
Excellent job, I suppose the drilling is much easier than I had thought it would be. Just need to figure out how low I want to go. I want to go as low as your car but I want the dampness to be as stock as possible, but that might not be possible.
hmm

You can have the right height you want no problem along with soft damping as well.
If you want slammed and set it on stock damping, no problem. And vice versa

Got a few ideas rolling around in the skull... and a few new bits to add to the car this weekend or next weekend.
I'm also looking into a few new tweaks to change the look of the car a bit. Should be interesting. The new city light bulbs will be a crazy color i think and playing around with the daytime running lights as well along with the fogs running independently DIY.

City lights?
Did you add the DRL module? I was thinking about it but considering I have HID high beams I figured I would be blinding people 24/7 lol
And I thought you already had the independent fog lights? Or do you mean completely independent....

Completely independent fog lights.
And correct on City Lights... the Japanese kept all the good looking parts. they are built into the shroud for the main HIDs
and you have HID high beams? I'd be worried about that. I'd personally prefer to keep the halogens in case of an emergency. If i need to flash or high beam someone, I don't want the HIDs to have to warm up before i can flash my beams if needed... If that makes sense.

Oh okay, I see what you mean, the little bulb lights. My old Lexus use to have them. They used to come on with the parking lights. I changed the bulb to LED and it looked nice. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Would have to figure out how to hold them in place.
Yes, I completely understand about the high beams. The thing is, when you first start them up (flash them), they flash brightly for a second as the ballast ignites. However, you only have 1 good flash before they dim, so if the other driver doesn't see the flash, you've missed the opportunity and must flash your low beams. However, since I have my fog lights hooked up to my high beams, and they do the same thing, most people don't miss the flash the first time since its doubled. A little complicated I know lol

I completely understand. I wanted to play around though...
I'm contemplating going with no yellow tint on the fogs again and using yellow bulbs in the fogs... but we'll see. I have a lot of playing around to do with things.
I think it will be a good weekend to swap in new axles, the transmission flush, the brake calipers, the city light wiring, and lower the car a little more.
Gotta stay busy

Nice, well if you do the city lights take some pics while your doing it so I can see how it goes. I always liked the look, I didn't realize the JDM had them in this car. Did they have the parking poles as well?

You lost me, what do you mean "to see how it goes"?
No parking pole, I never really cared for that look, but there are 2 more items that are out there that I'm shopping for, I'll keep you posted on those.

I meant so I could see how install them sorry lol.
I know drilling and whatnot is simple, I would just want to see how you managed to keep them held in place and 2: how they look at night

That i couldn't tell you how to make them. They are a standard thing in the JDM headlights. The holes, plugs and wiring all came with the headlights when i ordered them from Japan.
All I need to wire them up finally and install the new color bulb i want to use.

DAMN YOU!
lol
I didn't realize you moved them from the 96 you had. I thought they were stock North American ones and you were gonna drill and wire and all that.
I see some of the legends also came with headlight washers and all that.
Neat.

Lol. yeah. I bought a replacement RL for this purpose.
I wasn't finished at all with my old '96... and when the hail damage occurred... i had 2 options. Repair the hail damage and still have an engine with 274,xxx miles on it... Or put the insurance money towards a replacement car and swap everything over and keep on going with the plans.
Obviously option 2 won and I stumbled upon the Carbon Gray and was in love instantly. I'm glad i got it. I swapped the stock parts over to the old RL and sold it and called it a day and focused on the 2004.

As for the front headlight washers, if I recall that is a Euro thing that is a mandatory requirement for their cars.

Got a few more goodies in the mail... my new replacement arm rest release came in finally so now i have access to my inner compartment in my arm rest to the other lighter outlet... no more zip tie mod.
Tonight i will be waxing the car... finally and doing the new brake caliper mod as well before my photo shoot on Saturday for fun. Cleaning the headlights and wiring up the city lights finally as well.
Also... got the "2004 Acura 3.5RL" dealer brochure last night as well. Apparently, there are a few cars i need to go hunting for to swap parts over from. I'm also on the hunt for another 2004 RL.

Come on up. I can show you a lot of little tid bits. If you can, it's a small detail, but the steering wheel upgrade from all the past years to swap over is a much better look I think personally...
Old format steering wheels. Notice that the steering wheel looks "branded" and stamped in...
2004 steering wheels looks slightly better with the badge installed into the wheel...
