Back window won't go up... window regular out?
Hi,
First off, i'm new to this community. Our acuras are a 97 RL, 97 CL, and a 03 TL in addition to our black sheep 02 E430. I used to be on www.vwvortex.com a lot when i had a jetta. However, i've now enjoyed my TL for two good years now.
I've got a problem though....
My back window on our 97 RL won't go up automatically.
I think the window regulator might need replacing.
Does anyone have instructions on this repair?
If not, does anyone have regular instructions on how to get the door panel off, and a possible part # for the regulator?
Thanks.

Buy the part on e-bay
There is a guy on e-bay that sells window regulators for RLs. Plan on spending around $175 for the part and another $40-$50 to have a reputable mechanic put it in. I have done one and need another. If you go the the Acura dealer, you'll spend around $350 to have it done, I believe.
What happens is that, over time, the small cable becomes frayed to the point that it will no longer wrap around the spool. Once this begins to happen, it's a matter of time before it will have to be replaced. You would think that you could just have the cable replaced but that cannot be done, to my knowledge.

www.windowmotors.com
I ordered a window regulator for my 1997 RL today. The name of the company is South Florida Window Lift and the website is: www.windowmotors.com.
