Hey guys, I have a 1999 Acura RL 3.5. A couple weeks ago out of nowhere I went to the store and when I came out my car was unable to start. The problem persisted to become worse and worse until now I can barely started at all. I put in a new battery and the problem is still there. The car seems to turn over strongly which leads me to believe the starter is fine also. All the lights come on when the key is turned and the battery looks strong. The car only seems to want to start if it has not been running for a while and even then it will most likely not start. I've been reading online and saw some people talking about fuel pump relay, or that it may even be a fuse. Can someone help me I already spent so much money on this battery looking for a cheap fix LOL. Help!

Yesh check the main relay underneath the steering column

Definitely check the main relay. It's a common issue of Honda/Acura vehicles of that vintage. It's an inexpensive fix as the part can be sourced in many local auto stores for $60-$70. Same thing happened in my same year NSX a few months ago. In that car it took me only 30 minutes to install a new one. If you're handy with solder, you can resolder the loose connections in your old one and you can keep it as a spare.

I have 97 Acura RL with similar starting issues. Where is the main relay located and how is it labeled? In the fuse box under the hood/driver side, there is a fuse/switch labeled "Small Relay". Is this it? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

In the 97 RL is the main relay and the fuel pump relay the same relay or are they different? Also where are they located? Thanks for your response.
