I have a 97 acura rl with one broken tail light. I dont like the look of the stock tail lights and was looking for aftermarket ones to find there was none. However i do like the look of the 99-04 tail lights on the rl and i was wondering if the mounting/connectors would be compatible?

99-04 will fit, however you need to do a lot of custom works. Thats involving drilling 3 extra holes for each taillight and cut of .5 " off the bumper. The bulbs from 96-98 will not fit onto the back of 99-04. I think i posted a thread of my 96 with 04 taillight long ago here.
Or you can black out the amber part of the 96 tail light.
