P.S. hey how hard was it and how much did it cost to upgrade to the 04 Nav system on your RL?

thanx for the compliment, well it was pretty hard but i had time on my hands and i got it done it about 3 days, the only hard part was locating the complete 04 navi unit.

btw i got the navi screen, dvd player unit, radio and the wood panel from ebay at $800.00 and i had to but the navigation antenna from acura at $100.00, the satellite (xm)antenna that goes on the roof for $350.00, and and the xm tuner for $1200.00, not to mention the wire harnesses. it was pretty expensive but its worth it....

Good looking car and nice price. I thought RL has very low insurance, unless you have a bad driving record.

In my experience the RL is quite reasonable to insure.

the insurance is expensive for me cause i got pulled over and refused a breathalizer so i got hit wit a dui in my driving record....

How did you get the voice nav controls to work? I figured that requires a mic somewhere in the car that the 99 didn't have. Also, what about the voice button on the steering wheel?

Or does the voice functions not work?

i had it working but i took it off cause the reel to reel in steering colum went bad,and the dealers want like $250 for it.. i said the hec with it i hardly even used it..it only works good when its silent in the car with the windows up...btw.. in order for the voice command to work u need to install the mic that over-head near the map lights, the voice button thats on the radio controls on the steering wheel.. those two peaces are cheap and easy to install.....

btw if anyone is interested doing this this to their rl i would get the navi system and install it for about 1500$$

i would offer u $1000 including all my stuff for ur repalcement where the navi was ihave a 2001 suffering from some minor problems if u want il trade u my car for urs if u put some cash ontop of iti only have 76kmiles on it pretty sure if u fix mine u can make way more money

it dont make sense taking all that stuff out of my car.. i ment i can get u a set up like mine from another 04 rl. i know this salvage yard thats asking $1200 for the same stuff i have. and i would charge $300 to get it and install it. its not as easy as it looks. dont think u can just plug and play, you need to re wire everything including the climate control sytem cause its touchscreen. i have the wire diagrams for all the rl's. btw i will consider trading my rl for another one.....email me direct so we can discuss this... my email is jobadabangyou@tmail.com
