1996 RL, sounds like power steering pump whine but only after 30 mins
Hi:
My 1996 RL has 169,000 miles. Runs well, and I still love the feel of the car and its seats remain very comfortable to me even as I have compared it to newer TLX etc. So I would like to keep it a bit more. What I notice is that car has only normal sounds when started, but after about 30 minutes it seems like power steering pump may be making a whining sound. Not too loud but noticeable for sure to me, and may be to any one standing near by the car.
Any ideas what might this be and if this would mean a new power steering pump? i have read it might be o-rings, but I don't see obvious foam i the fluid reservoir though hard to see.
