I was given an 02 Acura that's suppose to have transmission problems. The vehicle runs fine but has a grinding noise coming from the front of the vehicle when driven. The cv axles are fine ,but when I jacked up the vehicle to spin the front wheels they spin freely when turning them in reverse (clockwise),when spinning them forward (counterclockwise ) they spin freely then catch and start making a loud grinding sound before spinning freely again.I had the vehicle in neutral and turned one wheel at a time. The speedometer is also the only gauge not working (vss).Would this be a problem with the transmission or differential or maybe both.
