I've been searching endlessly for mods. I ordered the eibachs. Rims are soon to come. Besides the factory available accessories. theres nothing else. why?

The RDX is a 2 ton SUV. How much impact on performance do those mods really have?

Not really. If this vehicle became synonomous with loud exhausts, baggy pants and streetracing videos, I'd probably sell it.

Hondata ECU flash for $600. The only mod I'm planning for my 2007.

Rev limiter raised to 7200 rpm. (sportshift mode only)
10-20 Hp gain everywhere - 26 Hp at peak.
33 ft lb torque at 3300 rpm

Definatly not looking to make this a rice burner..... but a big brake kit or even just some nice cross drilled or slotted rotors.... maybe a nice side skirt instead of only the factory runnig boards to choose from.....Sportier exhaust (nice tone.. like comptech) Acold air intake would be nice... Subtle but nice detailing mods.

It will take some more time for real companies to take the time to research and develope the product that actually works. COMPTECH USA went out of business, so count a reputable comapny that makes awesome products off the list. I'm glad that HONDATA came out with the reflash option that impresses the RDX for a mere $600.

What other companies are out there today, besides mom & pop engineering, copying big name companies and selling it for the 1/3 of the cost? What happened to SKUNK2, AEM, and perhaps, Mugen?

Give it some more time...seems like the demand for these parts have yet to spark.

I fully believe the rdx can push 350 hp. Just imagine a intake, downpipe, exhaust, and a reflash to take advantage of these mods. of course, can take it a step further with blowoff valve, boost controller.... I think the downpipe would create significant gains and we all know the AWD system could handle the power. Im monitoring the rdx modifications as I may keep the tsx for 5 more years then prob need a suv. An intake, exhaust, and the reflash would suit me just fine, but i'd also like to see the long term reliability of a rdx with mods. We have to show interest in modding though or aftermarket parts/ companies will never come.

But can the trans handle the extra power? Does anyone know the HP/TQ limitations?

ive asked just about everyone i know that works for acura, techs at acura, and one of the master techs here in the northeast that is among a bunch of guys that can work on NSX's; no one knows the handling capacity. id be hesitant to bring the stock trans towards 400hp.

haha... people said the same thing when the Subaru Forester came out, now mine is pushing 300 hp. Of course it shares the same chassis, and engine block as the STI, so alot of the work is already done.

I think that just like the FXT, it will take true enthusiast and developers to create aftermarket products for the RDX, for the simple fact that we can't swap products with any other vehicles.

Dissapointed.. . I would like see more support from aftermarket companies...there is mucho potential for the RDX, and Acura should be all over it ..... AWD turbo SUV's should be allowed to have fun too... Sans rice........

I also have a Forester XT (my wife's commuter). It weighs about 3280 if IIRC.

With the exception of engine management like AccessPORT, all of the mods are really Impreza mods that happen to work on the Forester.

If they drop the power train into the TSX, the available aftermarket products will skyrocket.

Still gonna leave mine stock, though.

Mods...

I saw mentioned that you might want slotted or drilled rotors. They already exist. EBC makes slotted discs for the RDX already.

As for exhaust, you can go anywhere, and just have someone cut off the old muffler, and installed another one by whoever you want. I do that all the time with cars, just measure, and search the sites. Flowmaster for example sells the muffler separate, just get one and put it one if you want a different sound.

I would also love to see more stuff out for the vehicle, but it takes time. Once the turbo starts appearing on the rest of the Honda/Acura line, you'll see more mods.
