Question Weathertech vs OEM cargo liner

Need your opinion on cargo mats.
Which ones provide better protection? Weathertech or OEM?

I have WeatherTech for mines and I like it a lot. Perfect fit and covers more than the OEM.

I ordered mines from Ebay and it came quickly!

I live in NM and OEM was fine for me. Biggest thing I need to guard against is going to grocery store and a package might leak. This happened several times before to make an cargo tray worth the investment on all my vehicles.

I also purchased a large plastic tarp large enough to cover the 2nd row when down. The tarp folds up small enough to hide with the spare tire area. There are times when the cargo tray is not large enough and the tarp is good for that. I don't have any issues leaving the tray in 24/7 for traveling (also have a cargo net that helps keep the tray in place).

Taken in completely dark garage. The on/off light switch still works like normal. The LED bulb I had before just wasn't bright enough compared to the 48 LED panel. The panel has a sticky back for mounting. Zero issue with night blindness from the LEDs.

I have to agree regarding WeatherTexh...

Have an '07 and bought an OEM but did not like the fact mat was not covering all areas.

Swapped out for a Tech mat and instantly

On this one I feel really certain that weathertech over OEM is the way to go. Seems silly that the OEM doesn't cover the back raised ledge like the WT does.

THe oem trunk tray doesn't have the raised edge because the OEM tray works with the OEM CARGO COVER.
when the cargo cover is not used, you can set it down out of the way on the floor, above the rear wheel. This eliminates the back raised edge.

I wonder how the weather tech would work when the OEM cargo cover is stored on the floor?

I went with Weathertech mats for the front, back seats and cargo mats and love them. I bought mine off Amazon when they went on sale with a service called Honey. They sent me an email when the mats got marked down.

Cool story bro.
DOES THE WEATHERTECH REAR TRUNK TRAY WORK WITH THE OEM CARGO COVER WHEN STORED ON THE FLOOR?

Don't know about underneath, I always put mine on top of the Weathertech like I would the OEM.
