What up all,

So I have been messing around with a few BOV and finally got one install that I really like.

You can get the one made for Mazdaspeed/ WRX.
Flange Adapter plate fits perfectly so basically there is no custom plate or recirculate pipe needed.

Also the bottom flange can be rotated so you can fit it back to the stock plastic recirculation pipe.

Throttle feel stronger on higher RPM and car is more responsive ; I guess it is because of the BOV.
I am going to try to drive it for a while with the unit recirculating and VTA. (50/50)

Stock one was def. leaking on higher rpm.
The hybrid bov I had was position only one way and not lining up back to the factory plastic recirculating pipe.

The aftermarket flexible hose I had on was metal causing the car to generating more heat than normal then if I was to use the factory plastic recirculation pipe.
Also I suspect there is a leak somewhere toward the end of each hose.
I kept getting a bov/bpv code; afterward the check engine and awd light will come on right after.

There was one place that sells the plastic flexible recirculation hose but they are located in UK and it goes for about $60-70 USD dollars.

The extra money for that hose - i rather invest in towards a better bov and take my time to research one that can work with the factory plastic pipe.
(Less headache for people that wants to do switch out their factory bpv)

I also believe the forge bpv verison 2 for mazdaspeed would work for the RDX but have not tried it. (The base flange is adjustable also - only the version 2)

But that is a risk someone has to take on their own if they want to try it out.
Just another option for other members and hopefully more people will get into modding their RDX.

So is this also an audible difference from the stock BPV? I had the CP+E CAI on the RDX for a few months and it was just a bit loud for everyday driving. It appears from the photo that you have a CAI as well... Will this BOV be loud with a stock intake setup?

Youtube turbosmart dual port bov mazdaspeed.

It sounds the same.
Only thing is that you can adjust it from hard to soft setting.

It is a hybrid style bov so you can always cap back the VTA part if you don't want the sound anymore.

any way to reduce turbo whooshing sound? mine is a bit too loud with intake and removed insulation pad. Some friends and passengers (mostly female lol) get freaked out. ( i have no moded bov. it's stock).

I think you have to put back the stock intake box to get rid of the sound.
But we all wouldn't want to go back to stock would we!!?? ~

strange though it is not a short ram intake, just a CAI. resonators are intact. but even at slow acceleration you can hear the whistling. maybe that's just like stock and i forgot.

with any intake short or cai, you will hear everything related to the intake track, including the sound from your bpv.. if you are just looking for the woosh sound, the intake is the smarter route. but if you want a softer sounding intake, stock is your only option.

Thinking about parting out the Turbosmart Dual port Bov so I can try out the forge bypass valve.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I just recently bought a 07 RDX and interested in this mod, amongst others as well. Is this still legit? Thanks for all the help!

After reading this the adaoter flange for a wrx works on the rdx tmic correct? I plan on using a old school Freddy bov.
