Trunk unlocking while in Drive

Trunk unlocking while in Drive
Is there anyway to bypass the trunk unlocking while in Park. I drop my wife off at work in front of her building and she needs to get in to the trunk to get her bags. Do I always have to put it in park? Same with dropping the kids off at school, right now I always have to put it in park so they can grab their bags from the trunk. Can this be bypassed?
Thanks

It's a safety mechanism in place.. Why would you want to bypass it? Can you imagine just driving on the freeway and somehow accidentally brushing the trunk button?
While you're dropping people off, isn't it also a safe practice to put it into park to prevent you from lifting your foot off the brake pedal and potentially hurting someone?

Pardon my ignorance, but where is the trunk button on my 2012? I have yet to find it so brushing up against it would seem impossible if I don't even know where it is. My Rav4 doesn't lock the trunk and it's never opened.

My mistake, there is no hatch release on the inside of the RDX. The button is on the underside of the outside hatch release on the trunk itself.
There have been some threads regarding retrofitting an auto hatch open.. but alas, it's gone nowhere:https://acurazine.com/forums/first-g...-close-680822/

The only thing I can think of is to turn off the "Auto Door Lock" in the M.I.D. You will have to lock your doors/hatch manually with driver's door switch; but, the trunk will stay unlocked all the time until you hit the door lock. Pretty much trading one problem for another. I just hit the door unlock button if someone needs to get into the hatch while I'm in the locked RDX.

Map updates are just that easy with CD/ROM. On my 08 RDX, the CD/ROM is behind a little access panel on the right side of the center console in the front passenger area. I usually start the car for the updates. The last time I just turned on the key without starting in my MDX to load the new map and it killed my battery for the 15-20 min update Updates only come out once a year in the fall and Acura tries to sell as many as they can for the rest of the year. Prices start at $199 in the fall, $149 around Spring, and down to $99 before the start of summer. I usually wait until spring/summer to update; but, only purchase every 2nd or 3rd year. You can also purchase last years or +2 years old database maps off eBay if your 2012 haven't been updated in over 5 years.
