Best of luck to you my friend.

Another owner parting ways. Hope this isn't a growing trend.

Good luck with your future purchase. I sold my rdx on friday and honestly still regret it immensely. I sold it because I had to, not because I wanted to. I feel like I gave away a friend lol.

i think it does work for all the turbo years.. you would have to ask hondata to be 100% on that but when I unlocked it it shows that its for 2007+ rdx and the maps they did for them are listed in it as well

I hate to see you let your RDX go. I know the feeling when you know it is time to let go and move to the next level. I've slowly started the process of looking for a RDX replacement in the next few years. All good things must come to an end.......

What, mrgold25, just a week ago you sent me many suggestions for my RDX, including Hondata, one guy on YouTube has a 2007 RDX Hondata and K&N intake ruining 14.3 @ 94.somthing... Oh well, just don't see that coming, what are you looking for now?

I'm looking to move on this year as well. Possibly an MDX. The hubs wants something bigger. Both of our cars are higher mileage now so looking to get one new one. I will miss the nimbleness of the RDX for sure.

I also hope to get one as well. Hopefully by then I would be far along in my career and could afford to have multiple vehicles that I only drive once in a while. That way I wouldn't get any pain from driving the rdx.

I still see them driving around the city and shake my head everytime.

I know feeling all too well. Hell, we just traded our 2010 Accord for an Infiniti QX60. Not because we want too but needed a bigger car. And you're right, it's like losing a friend. But I intend to keep "Mary" for a long time. They don't make'em like they use too any more.

I never thought I would regret is as much as I do. If it was a choice I wanted to make, I would have bought another one right now, no joke. But I HAD to, thats the hardest part. Finding something to handle half as well at this price point and not be ugly? Forget about it!

Well, I picked this post area for my story too! I owned 3 RDX's & drove them for a total of 9.5 years. I enjoyed almost every part of them, but was still looking for something to update to when my '12 RDX was 3.5 years old. I am getting older, so there was a few things I wanted more now than when I was younger, but still wanted that "kick' from a stock SUV. It had to stay though in the correct price range. Well.. I traded the '12 RDX in for a Lexus NX200t! Now before you "flame me", I have to say WOW! simple WOW! I was NEVER a Toyota / Lexus fan, mostly because the older model RX was just boring! NOT the NX200t! Well made, great ride almost the same amount of room, (As a RDX) quick, like the RDX & handles pretty good. Not as good as the RDX Super handling AWD, but still good. Did great in the snow this winter, (leased it on Dec. 29th) Didn't want to buy outright, in case I didn't want it long term, gave me the options too, but let me tell you, I want this SUV! Great aggressive looks & MUCH better interiors, just really satisfied! I will check back in here to see how you all are doing, but it is sad to see so many people leaving & vehicles getting so many miles on them. I'm still not against Acura at all, I just couldn't bring myself to go w/ a 2016 RDX that's in my opinion is a smaller version of the MDX, (Soccer Mom Vehicle. Said by the Acura sales Manager, not me!!!) which at one time, everyone at the Acura dealer said, "they'll never do that" to the sales of the MDX. Well, they did & I wasn't happy! Sorry, just the way I felt. I REALLY love my NX & some of you MAY want to take a look. I'm not advocating going to Lexus, but, the NX200t is the closest vehicle I found that matched the older model RDX's is lots of ways & some things are way better! Thanks for the time & enjoyed my time here a lot. We'll be around from time to time!
Later.

^^ Great to hear. At some point if/when I am ready to change, there will likely be a decent number of CPO NXs out there. I only put about 4-5k/yr on my daily driver, so I've got the RDX for a long time if it keeps me happy. I honestly didn't know it would be so fun when I bought it.

But I am certainly a Toyota fan. I drove 1986 4x4, and then a 2000 4x4 Tacoma for 28 years in all. Nothing ever went wrong with them. I'm am slowly warming up to the looks of the NX.

I figured the NX would eventually steal RDX sales...
For people that have the first gen RDX, the NX is very similar, good handling, maybe not as good, but not bad, and it's a turbo... I guess we all know what the second gen NX will be, if history repeats itself... We'll have a baby RX, by 2020-2022...

Not yet that is! They are planning (maybe already using?) this same engine in a variety of other lexus products, I am sure some tunes will come out and be transferable

I wonder how they will get past how Toyota/Lexus protect their ECU data? I wonder how they could tune around it... Oh well, I guess they'll figure out something...

There are not a lot of replacements for the 07-12 RDX in the same price range with the handling capabilities of this CUV. I'm hoping the 3rd Gen RDX will bring back sh-awd; but, we have to wait until maybe 2018 or early 2019 to find out. I'm thinking about a 15 or 16 TLX sh-awd to fill the gap until then. I can always give the TLX to my son in a few years since his TSX is already +10yrs/127k in his last year of H.S. We are going to be empty nesters in a few months and the MDX will just be too much room for a daily driver like it now.

Even if I purchase another vehicle, I think I would still keep the RDX just to run the mileage up as a daily driver a little bit longer.

I originally thought you started this thread, then I realized you hadn't... However, that's a good thought, I'd just be careful around the TLX, I'm hearing they're having transmission problems like the generation 2 Acura TL (99-03)... Well, maybe not that bad, but look it up...

Not really sure. But it is for sure doable if enough interest. Companies are just getting better at protecting their ecu though.

Honda/Acura have Hondata, I'm not sure if other companies do this, but this is a good way to go...

Sadly, there is no TOYdata, or LEXdata equivalent...
I guess that's just how it is, and for Toyotas, or at least my 2001 2.2 Camry, no matter what I did, new iridium plugs, synthedic oil, intake, 93 octane, nothing worked, it's like the Camry was telling me, "Nice Try"...

That being said, Toyotas don't respond well to simple mods, or at least in my expiriance...

I'm sure there will be something, go on ClubLexus, they're very helpful, and my GO TO place before I joined the forum, I've been a long time lurker there...

Go check out an ETCG1 video on YouTube, topic : Are Auromaker Trying To Make It Illegal For You To Work On Your Own Car, I think, he gets into this a bit...

The 2007-12 RDX is a hidden gem for sporty CUV if you go the modding route. Nothing else in the category has the combo of a reprogrammable k-series engine with a premium AWD setup. Probably closest is a mid-2000s Forester XT, and they're topheavier, uglier (but that's taste) and more importantly, have known maintenance problems. The RDX is going to age well, I think, especially for enthusiasts, once the price of used models falls further. My tuner already tells me that he's seeing more RDXs for tunes /now/ than he did when the flashpro just came out - it's the 3rd owners who are interested in this game.

If you're not going to play around with it, probably there are other things that would serve a little better, like the aforementioned Lexus.

Just crossing my fingers that I don't hit someone's bumper and get shotgunned in the chest by the airbag inflation device before this summer!

There is also APR, GIAC, Unitronic, and Revo for volkswagen, audi, porsche products. There is no lexdata or toydata because there has never needed to be one. The 2.0t in the new nx is the first turbo I believe. In my experience any naturally aspirated car does not respond well to mods.

I know automakers are making it hard to work on your own car....the Germans have been NOTORIOUS for doing this.
