It'll have to come out of another RDX.

While some others may bolt up, the Transmission Control Unit won't work with it. Plus given that it's a turbo vehicle, all other transmissions from Honda (up until just recently) are for naturally aspirated so the shift points would be crappy in the extreme case it was operational.

Stick with the factory trans so you don't run the risk of having to do it again.

Shitty that you need a new trans, and best of luck getting a good, decently priced replacement. Can you share any details with us? What symptoms did you run into that led to the diagnosis? Many people run into shifting issues that are solved just by replacing the shift solenoids, while the unit itself is usually very robust.

ya it does suck for sure.. i bought it used and it had a new rad put in, never thought nothing of it.. until i got it home and decided to check tranny fluid and oulled dipstick out and said geee that looks terrible pink... so drained it out and it looked like peptobismal (sp) did the fill n drive and drain 3 times then did it another 3 times and for good measure another 3 times..... well short of it is id say tranny cooler busted in rad and filled tranny with antifreeze. transmission shifts 100% perfect in every gear down shifts and up shifts perfect problem is when you slow down to about 30to 40 it dosent feel like the torque wants to unlock lugs real bad and to the point it will shutter depending on how slow. give it a tap of gas and comes out of it.. on the highway runs perfect.. anyways i figure i would try and find a tranny and swap it out.

Yikes...still, replacing the TCC solenoid or even the torque converter itself may be cheaper than replacing the entire unit.
