Actually ... just trying to put 2 and 2 together here...

Well to me that says the V6+VCM option sure looks possible with the RDX riding on the above "light truck" platform eh?

The wife has VCM on her '05 Ody Touring and it is unreal and as a nice side affect it requires more aggressive gearing ... so when you want V6 ... you get it

If it's going to be a V6, then I would hope VCM is included. It would allow Honda to maintain much higher fuel economoy number which I'm sure will please a few environmentall conscious types.

I would say...
Acura better put a small v6 (3.0litre) in it...but rumors say they mite put the k24 in it...
I think Acura should just redesign a new K series engine to fit this new car....I think VCM would be in if its a v6....and i highly doubt it'll be in for a 4banger

Well, the V6 from the Accord hybrid already has VCM. So maybe we will see the 3.0 from the Accord in the RDX (hopefully modified for better torque numbers).

Curious if anyone has towed anything with a vehicle using VCM? Can you deactivate the system or is it always automatic? I am thinking of the RDX so that I can pull a couple of snowmobiles. Any ideas on VCM and how it would function or not fuction when pulling a trailer?

Since VCM automatically switches based on engine load, the fact that you have a trailer and will likely be putting more load on the engine will probably allow VCM to keep all 6 cylinders firing.

Here is what makes me think we will not see the VCM on this model:
"to our top selling V-6 light truck models"

The RDX will not be "top selling" when it comes out as a new product, but maybe I am reading too much into this... oh man if it has VCM that would be awesome...it certainly has made me take a second look at the Pilot when I purchase a new "family" vehicle in 2006.
