RDX Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle?

Do you think all RDX's will be 50-state compliant? (Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle )

I'm curious because my primary residence is California, where I'll need this, but if I buy Acura I will be buying from a dealership in Utah because I have a personal connection there and will get the best price.

If RDX's are not all 50 state compliant, should a Utah dealer be able to order me a 50-state compliant version?

This is an interesting question from a technical standpoint. One of the knocks against Turbos (from Hondas point of view) is their traditionally poor emissions. Having a huge cast iron turbo before the catalytic converter slows the heating of the cat and this increases cold start emissions (when emissions are the highest).

Sorry I don't have an answer about your 50 state question, but aren't most acuras currently 50 state cars?

Thats a good question -- are all Acuras 50 state compliant (either LEV-2 or ULEV-2, not just LEV).

If all the current Acura models are, we can probably assume the RDX will be. But who knows, sounds like the turbo could throw a wrench in the mix.

Well, I'm out here in the middle of the pacific and we don't even to emissions tests. I do know that all the cars we sell are labled as "50 state" cars.

Yes, as of right now, all new cars in the Acura line-up are 50-state compliant.

As for the RDX, given Honda/Acura's green tendency, I would imagine that it too would be.
