Projector bowl removal

Can anyone confirm or not whether the projector assmebly can be removed from the housing with out separating the housing?

Looking at replacing the lenses. Mines a 2012, if that matters?

I am sorry man. This forum is mostly incredibly dead. It appears to have died within the last couple of years. I would have imagined that such a sporty vehicle (not to mention an extension of a Honda product) would have a killer following.

In terms of your question, I wish I could help but I am going to er on the side of caution and say that no, you would have to take the light apart to get to the projectors.

I'm also going to say no, you are probably going to have to bake them to get at it.

Here is an ebay pic of the back of the headlight:

The RDX doesn't seem to be a car that lots of people perform mods on. Maybe as the RDX gets older and used versions become cheap enough for teenagers to buy the forum will liven up. I also check out the RL forum. It's also dead over there, as the RL demographic don't do major mods, and the car is so reliable there's not much to talk about.

But I find that really surprising. It is so sporty and has a solid AWD system and a turbo. It almost begs to be modified. The RL, I can understand, it is too big (in terms of handling) and too expensive to mod for the average person. They are also incredibly rare on the market. But the RDX is surprising to me, I expected many people moving from tl's and rsx's moving into the RDX and those people tend to be very mod happy.

But you are correct, I expect within the next 2 years that it will be more affordable and therefore more likely to get modded.

n7plus1, the answer is no. You will have to bake the headlights and rip them apart to remove the projector and replace the lens, but to be honest, the RDX's projector is really nice compared to most (my opinion). Not sure why you would want to go beyond that unless you are doing further modifications to the headlights (complete black out, high beam retrofit, etc.).

X2, I always see the RDX's rolling around at night and I am actually pretty impressed with the lights.

Honestly, just hold on to them till you get a vehicle with really shitty projectors.

Agreed with the above. I also have some ZKW-R lenses I've had around for a while but the RDX has a really clean defined cutoff line with its stock projector / lens setup, I was really surprised and impressed. It seems to be even better than my old TL. It's worlds better than the cutoff from my jag lenses, unfortunately those headlights are a bear to get apart and back together.

X2 on the TL having really crappy projectors. My friend owns a 3g tl and WOW, that things lights absolutely blow.
