Potential buyer

Hey everybody!!

Starting to think about picking up a Gen1 RDX as my DD. I am a huuuuuuge Honda guy, just picked up a Civic Type R last fall as my 8th Honda and couldn't be happier. I DD a 2000 LS400 which I absolutely love but I am looking for something with more utility while still being fun. The LS is not fun, just nice. I do a lot of mountain biking and while i do put my bikes on my LS400 and wife's RX350, I'd prefer to have my own SUV. I have driven the RDX's before and really enjoy the tight solid ride, it's a ton of fun. Just wanted to say hi and see if you could point me in the right direction. I will be spending some time picking through the threads here. Probably looking to pick one up with 100k+ miles hopefully $6-8k.

I love window shopping.
in all honesty, I'd pick a CX-5 over the RDX, especially in the $5-8k range.

I use my RDX as my main vehicle to transport my 4" fat tire eMTB around on a Saris platform bike hitch. I could stuff the eMTB in the rear; but, the bike is pretty dirty or muddy after a ride. It only took about 20-30 minutes to attach a 2" aftermarket hitch and 4-way wiring harness was plug-n-play because all the connections are ready to go in spare tire area. Usually, the RDX is the wife's daily driver because of the smaller size, tons of Turbo TQ, very usable passenger space, easy to use utility, and excellent visibility. Downside is average mpgs are around 18-19 mpg combined if you take it somewhat easy on the turbo and sh-awd. I have +150,000 miles on my 08 tech and the only issues I've had +100,000 miles outside of the usual fluids/tires/brakes were:
- replaced front struts/rear shocks (was lowered on Eibach springs since 30K)
- new alternator
- replaced front passenger axle seal
- new coil packs

Lots of room to increase power, braking, and handling with the 1st Gen RDX if you can't leave everything stock.
