Passenger Air Bag Light
Our 2011's Check Passenger Air Bag Light has been going on and off for the last year. Its been to the Acura dealership several times to their saying there's nothing wrong. Well why is there a light then? The last time they said it might have something to do with having a bag or something on the passenger seat. However, there is no bag on the seat and the light is still on.
I know I'm grasping at straws, but the dealership clearly has no intention of helping me figure out the problem. Has anyone else had this and no how to fix it or what I should do? Very frustrated with them right now. |
Well the light says "airbag off", right? So if the seat is empty, the light should be on. But if you put a heavy enough bag on the seat, the light may turn off, indicating that the airbag is active.

No, it says Check Passenger Airbag and has an exclamation mark on the dash even after I okay the text code in the main display.

Ah, gotcha. In that case it most likely has to do with a sensor specific to that passenger airbag. Could be a real pain to track down and fix, especially if we're talking about an impact or roll sensor, but it could also be as simple as a sensor that detects whether or not your seat belt is buckled. Since it seems to be intermittent, I'm leaning toward a loose harness or plug somewhere. Check what you have access to, but if nothing is clear at that point you may want to take it to a reputable Honda shop to have them take a closer look.

I agree, check all of your air bag sensors and crash sensors. Then check your seat belt buckles, I have to change both front ones on my truck. |
Awesome. Any advice, diagrams, photos, forum posts that might help me in the tracking down process?
Its no big deal, but I can't stand having dash lights on, so if its something I can track down, I'm willing! Thanks for the tips! |
I’ll look for a diagram and get back to you. |
